iPhone SE 😁

And Tim Cook was asked about this in the conference call about a better price point phone for markets that may need starter phone prices. Tim spoke of the growth in these developing markets. I assume the SE was that phone.
The numbers in these areas are still small for Apple but the YoY growth is significant. He listed a number of countries off while obviously emphasizing India.
The WW active user base for iPhones is above 1 billion with 700 million subscriptions out of this. The numbers were great. I suspect in these markets the SE is seeding much of the growth though he stated there are buyers in all of these sectors going for pro max models.

I suspect growth in developing markets may come more in the form of refurbished iPhones. Think about the iPhone trade in programme. People in developed countries like the US have the option to trade in their older phones to Apple when they want to upgrade. Apple then refurbishes these phones before selling them in the second hand market in other countries, so they actually get to earn double here.

It’s quite clever when you think about it, compared to simply releasing a cheaper iPhone.[/QUOTE]

I've been using a Samsung S7 for almost five years and never seriously thought to switch to an iPhone. Because it works very well. That's my experience, mind you.
That’s the experience of a lot of people, I’m of the opinion that no Android has ever been touched by this particular person.

I know a couple of guys who were Android diehards for the past decade. Both switched to iOS this year because they wanted to be in the same ecosystem as their kids and wives. Both much prefer iOS and regret not switching earlier. I miss making fun of their crappy Android phones.

Have a 12 Pro Max. Fantastic device. Many will be upgrading to the latest iPhones with 5G come September. Will be good for Apple.

There is literally no chance of this happening without thermal throttling in the smaller iphone chassis, to the point that the M1 would perform worse and consume more battery than the A14 bionic.
The M1 is still A14, just scaled for laptops and desktops. Didn’t you learn anything from the WWDC presentation? Of course it would be scaled down for iPhone but has optimizations that offer performance certain class of tasks: 8k video and most of the things the iPad Pro M1 does now, just at a smaller size without affecting battery size.

The only reason why android has so much market share, is because of all the useless $50/$100 dumb phones, that aren’t good at doing anything. 😂

They're even available at my local supermarkets 🤦‍♂️😂👇

So you're shaming people that can only afford $100 phones?

Get off your high horse. They're phones. No one in the real world cares what kind of phone you have. Half of my office has Android and the other half iPhones and no one cares.

I added a 12 mini to my collection so now I use the mini and my Note 20 Ultra. I like iOS and seems a bit more polished but I tried downloading a video from Google Drive to my iphone so I can edit and upload to Instagram and I can't save to it to my phone so that Instagram can upload. Is this due to the sandboxing of the apps? Can't believe I can't do something so simple that I took for granted on Android. I still like both OS as they each have their merits so I have no problem switching back and forth.
To be fair, ChromeOS has some crazy sandboxing (I have a Chromebook and use Windows).

Not anymore, apple great on the spot customer service fixed the issue asap. 😁😎
It was going to be FIVE trips to the Apple Store to get my battery fixed in my iPhone. I went and bought a Samsung Galaxy phone rather than deal with that. Apple is a PITA for appointments, particularly in these pandemic times.

They even turned away elderly people and told them to go home and make an appt. Go Apple!

May I have your autograph? You must be so special.

I bet you use a Mac and all that fancy hardware, because use poor people need someone to look up to with our $500 PCs and our $300 phones.

never had that problem, don't have a appointment, hang around for a hour, get your phone fixed. 😃

Not at all, using a base model Mac and base model Apple Watch. 🤷‍♂️ as long as it's not fragmented android, I'm good.

Save to iCloud. Then upload. Simple ;)

Tried it and I couldn't download from iCloud to the photos app which is where Instagram can only upload from. Android's version let's you upload from any folder in the phone. The workaround was to save the video to Lightroom and export to Photos.

You can’t download or save a video to the Photos app unless the video is filmed by the iPhone camera from what I’ve read. Old tutorials showed it was possible before but seems like Apple changed how the Photos app works. I was trying to place a video in the photos app so that Instagram could find it and upload. Could not save it from iCloud or Google Drive to the Photos app. Only work around I found was uploading the video to Lightroom and then export the video to the Photos app like you would for any regular photo.

Not true about the video source. The video codec or file extension is most likely yet root cause of what you’re experiencing on iOS.
let’s start there what’s the codec and file extension of this video? MP4 is supported as is mp5 but Google’s Chrome based video codec was just supported (that web format) in iOS 14 but prior was an issue. Then maybe it is with IG that’s the issue or restriction. That’s my guess without knowing more specific details.

Well, not everybody has >1200$€£ on the bank to spend on a phone, that’s a very ignorant mindset. Buying hardware with a credit card like commonly done in the U.S. doesn’t make it better, sooner or later a money collector will knock on their doors.
no interest with Apple Card! why wouldn't you use it?

I really wish apple would raise their prices significantly! to many poors on this website for my taste!
