WOOOW !!
A "NEW" Mac Pro.....Like a "NEW" Ipad....and a "NEW" Iphone....let me guess.....REALY faster?
Apple hasnt produced something "NEW" in 10 years! Just more of the same! And really "faster" all the way till the next software update.....

The report doesn't say next year.... it says not this year. You are assuming it will be next year. There is no information that explicitly says the Mac Pro will be ready next year. It's all hope at this point. Even tech can be prone to fake news.
Can we stop with this "fake news" BS. If we all stop using that term, maybe it'll go away.

Also, they didn't hold a meeting specifically to lie to their entire customer base. o_O

Wow this is a huge middle finger to those who bought the current Mac Pro. To see it only get 1 iteration before its scrapped for another design.

I don't know, it would suck to buy one of the updated ones right now, but otherwise you could have had a solid four years of using it.

So.. Apple waited 3 years before giving thought to a serious Mac Pro update and now it's going to take another year, so 4 years for an update? I've waited long enough for the Mac Pro 7,1. I'm in the middle of investigating / picking parts for my Hackintosh project at half the price or less. And I'm not going to wait for another year.

Tempted to return my junk LG 5K now I'm on my 4th one
I'm keeping mine. Who knows when this new display will be released and it probably won't be supported by today's hardware. So unless you plan on getting a new display and a new Mac, while also waiting an indefinite amount of time, then keep it.

Okay, there was no spec bump. They moved down the same old CPUs and GPUs into the next lower tier model, so it's basically just a price cut. The real deal is going to come next year.

Even among pro users, notebooks are by far the most popular Macs. In second place are iMacs. The Mac Pro is third. Apple declined to describe the Mac Pro’s share of all Macs sales any more specifically than “a single-digit percent”, but my gut feeling is that the single digit is a lot closer to 1 than it is to 9.

Think they really forgot that Mac mini still exists.

How long do you think it takes to design a brand new computer from scratch? But yes, they probably just and up with the idea yesterday.
