Of course not! They want to force you to buy a separate one for your kids.cool. can we get multiple user profiles on ipadOS? thanks
Make it auto-rotate depending on the orientation of the iPad![]()
So what? Viagra was supposed to be a treatment for angina pectoris … ended up being used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, resulting in Pfizer earning even more money than planned!Steve Jobs rolling in his grave.
iPad was supposed to be a creative tool.....ended up as a glorified netflix/youtube/gaming tablet.
what can we do to get them to change their minds lolOf course not! They want to force you to buy a separate one for your kids.
So, in this regard, Apple has produced two devices that are not designed properly for their own use case, but people still love it and use them extensively, and here we are today. From another perspective the iPhone is a tiny iPad that’s too small for running its OS optimally. I could just as validly say that the iPhone was, is and always will be just a dumbed down iPad.

Hmm……never thought about iPad and iPhone both being amazingly boring in a sense.
laughing WITH you not AT you on this...All the sarcasm directed at MacRumors is odd. Reorienting the iPad Apple logo is actually newsworthy due to the implications of doing so. This is a hint at where they’re going with the device. There’s a reason behind the change. Some of you need to think a level deeper before popping off.
Steve was against a stylus, not a pencil.Actually his idea was to make it a consumption device. Tim Apple made it a creative tool with the introduction of the pencil, which was dreaded by His Steveness.
Yes, a pencil was designed for precision. Fingers were for everyday touch. UI built to be finger friendly first.Steve was against a stylus, not a pencil.
Haha, yep! I was going to say something similar... which is probably where there's 300 comments on this piece of non-news.cool. can we get multiple user profiles on ipadOS? thanks
I get what you're saying but to me that doesn't sound like the answer. I don't want my device flipping between two different operating systems and two different sets of apps depending on whether it's linked to a keyboard and mouse/trackpad. I want the same OS and same apps available regardless, otherwise users could be caught in a bind if they need to access something from a macOS app but left their Magic Keyboard at home.Sure. But just imagine an iPad that’s basically just the screen of a MacBook. When it’s attached to its keyboard it’s a MacBook. When you take the screen off it’s an iPad.
I know that but the OP claimed Steve would be rolling in his grave because it was designed as a creative tool, which is not the case.It became a creative tool when the pencil was released.
Regarding the iPad Pro, it was a phenomenally productive device in my undergraduate and medical school years. Now I’m looking to add an iPad Mini as my companion for in-hospital rotations and quick notes. The iPad in its many forms is all the computer I need at this stage in my life. A Pro device for home/travel and a Mini for work.Sadly, for many years, it's been a tradition here for some to be perpetually unhappy with Apple products; even products that don't personally affect them.
I’m surprised Apple hasn’t made that logo a sort of Apple Watch screen where the logo changes orientation when the device changes the orientation. You have to admit, that would be pretty cool.Makes sense. They are going all in on the landscape use of the device. Might as well make the logo positioned the same way.
It's an observation, not an insult. An observation that is pointed and perhaps slightly hyperbolic, but not without reason. Please stop. If you are just going to insult people here you're not going to make any friends.
If you really have something to say please expand and give us some context. What devices do you use? I've had several iPads and most of them are still in use, but by others.
