I do not have enough AAPL shares to support your point of view. Kudos to people who hold on to their gadget for that long and save some precious resources.Maybe you're joking ? but Apple wouldn't joke about this...
iPhone 6 came out a decade ago. It's not worth them supporting anymore. Those people who don't want to upgrade don't need to but if anything happens it's on them. They should not expect Apple to support such old hardware.
Still one of the best designs and every time I pick up the iPhone 6 I am impressed how light it was! Even the 7 Plus is like wow that’s light. What happened.
Unless they find a way to break the laws of thermodynamics then Apples Mother Nature talk is just BS.What will Mother Nature think of Apple discontinuing support for perfectly functional products?
This decision by Tim Cook and Apple will likely result in more waste, more pollution, a larger carbon footprint, and further climate change.
Very disappointing, Apple.
Apple car: oh your car is 10 years old, it’s obsolete we don’t sell parts for it anymore and we don’t allow 3rd parties to supply parts either. Why would you want that old junker with a 10” screen? the new one has a 20” screen!
I did. I own one.I didn’t know even know there was a 6 Plus, thought there was just an iPhone 6.
I think most of the Internet stopped with the April fools jokes four years ago 😔because there wasn’t much to laugh about on 4/1/20Thank God. In today's social media craziness, posting fake articles (especially if they have a basis in reality) is just a bad idea now.
The iPhone 6 continued to be sold in an official capacity by Apple after 2016 (albeit after a temporary hold), whereas the 6 Plus was permanently discontinued that year. The regular 6 eventually got discontinued permanently in 2018. Taking these years into account and Apple’s general guidelines on when a product becomes vintage (5 years after it gets discontinued) and obsolete (7 years after discontinuation), it makes sense that the 6 Plus is now classed as obsolete as it has now been 8 years. The regular 6 on the other hand still technically falls under “vintage” as it is still within the 5-7 year window (6 years now) after permanent discontinuation (2018). I’d give it another year or two for Apple to finally pull the official plug on itWonder why the iPhone 6 is listed as "vintage" but the 6 Plus is "obsolete". Very strange.

The EU is, of course, already working on it https://repair.eu/news/new-eu-rules...llow-new-ecodesign-requirements-by-june-2025/There REALLY needs to be a law. 20 years MINIMUM full support for phones. The technology is mature now, it's insane that anybody still 'upgrades' every year.
I agree with that and I almost liked the way the iPhone 4 felt with the bumper than without.antenna gate was better. i got a free bumper case out of it![]()

I’m guessing the reason for the difference in the discontinuation years between the 6 and 6 Plus is because Apple probably wanted to keep selling the regular 6 at a lower price in developing markets, so decided to just keep production going. The 6 Plus may have simply been too expensive to sell in these markets, hence the permanent discontinuation in 2016 - a year after it was launched, as per tradition.
Hope this helps!
PS: Attached is some relevant info pulled from Apple's official site and Wikipedia’s timeline of the 6 and 6 Plus models if you’re interested!

It's clear to see that most care more about the full size iPads in the Pros and the non-Pro one (the latter especially for education)The mini 6 will be vintage soon too since they haven’t released one in 2.5 years or any other iPad in 19 months
Yup, the 6 is when they started to introduce the plus sizingI didn’t know even know there was a 6 Plus, thought there was just an iPhone 6.
It’s listed in the article…Wonder why the iPhone 6 is listed as "vintage" but the 6 Plus is "obsolete". Very strange.
“Apple now considers the iPhone 6 Plus to be "obsolete" worldwide, meaning that Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers no longer offer repairs or other hardware service for the device.”
And then
“Apple discontinued the iPhone 6 Plus in September 2016, but the iPhone 6 remained available through resellers in select countries for a few more years, so it is not yet considered "obsolete."
HUH?
