Or an issue with a fairly worn out older battery. Harder to pinpoint that one.This random shutdown issue is not limited only to iPhone 6s. It's happening to my iPhone 5s too after updating to iOS 10. For older models, it may be an software issue.
No, but between the iPhones and MacBook Pros, combine enough non-dangerous issues, and they can add up to something that's also aggravating and disappointing.Bad year for battery tech. At least iPhones aren't exploding.

The inconvenience is a factor but it is a free replacement. I am in the same boat as you. I am pretty easy on my battery so I will wait a couple of months before getting it replaced so they can get the process smoothed out and get the poor folks in big distress taken care of first.
BTW, you can turn on "Find My iPhone" again until you need to bring it back in for service.
