Thanks Apple, but I'll keep using a lightning cable and my $25 anker wireless charger.

I fail to understand why is everyone so surprised about $129 for MagSafe Duo.

What other 2in1 or 3in1 wireless MagSafe 15W chargers are priced at? Besides Belkin 3in1 MagSage Wireless Charger which is also priced at $149 without adaptor, all other 2in1 or 3in1 wireless chargers are around $100 and it has only 7.5W charging speed.

I agree MagSafe Duo is expensive but even other wireless chargers are more expensive as they only give 7.5W charging speed. Just because they're priced around $100 which is less compared to MagSage duo, does not mean it's cheap because considering they only give 7.5W charging speed, it's ridiculously expensive even at $100.

The way MagSafe Duo is being talked about pricing here is incorrect because someone here said, he has morphie 2in1 wireless charger for $97 but that's very expensive for a 7.5W charging speed.

I'm not defending Apple here but if you look around for 2in1 or 3in1 wireless chargers, they're all in the same segment pricing. It's not cheap. Compared to other 2in1 or 3in1 wireless chargers, Apple turns out modest at pricing and a practical one too which can be handy while travelling to office, holidays etc. I don't understand why so much riot only for Apple when the competitors are priced higher or almost the same.

Edit: Apple still gives you a cheaper option to buy MagSage at $40 which gives you charging speed at 15W. Compare that to other wireless chargers who gives you speed at 7.5W. But when we talk about 2in1 or 3in1 wireless chargers, they're all expensive

Here are few examples

Morphie 3in1 Wireless Charging Stand (7.5W) - $139.95

All the poors (who spent up to $1700 on a phone, mind you) whining about Apple’s pricing amuses me.

That's not correct. When there are better options to charge in a modest price then why spend $150 that also for charging. It's really about convenient. Sure $150 is high for charging a device but all wireless chargers are priced almost the same. That's what everyone needs to understand. Digging alone at Apple is ridiculous. When Belkin is pricing it's 3in1 MagSage Wireless Charger WITHOUT adaptor for $149, nobody says a word. Morphie 3in1 charges $100 giving you 7.5W charging speed, nobody says a word. When the industry itself is pricing high, why blame only Apple?

You know what, I don’t care if I could simply move on and not purchase it - I’m gonna say it: they have lost their s**t selling a charger at $129. Wow!

Apple really has lost its grip on reality... first $999 iPhones, then jacked up prices of iPad Pro 2018, and now $149 for a charger

this thread full of Tesla drivers and MacBook owners makes no sense at why folks are coming in clutch at the cheapness of the price of this charger

I'm not really understanding why anyone would want this. It defeats the purpose of MagSafe which is to have the option of using your phone while its charging wirelessly (but not really wireless). This is just simply taking two things that you already have and putting them together that serves ZERO purpose.

Those prices are a robbery.
Sold separately the MagSafe charger is 45€ and the AW magnetic charger is 35€ so why the **** is the MagSafe duo 149€? Robbery!
Since they are 100% optional, no they aren’t robbery. It’s very simple, if the price isn’t worth the product, don’t buy it. If enough people don’t the price will change.

That is ONE use of MagSafe, but it also helps with alignment which allows faster charging. Also for people who travel often this might be more convenient than bringing along separate chargers. It’s ok if it’s not useful for you, other people might have different needs/uses.

It helps. I travel to work and I need chargers with me since I do charge my iPhone once a day to 100%
Also, I do travel a lot for holidays & work, so I carry a lot of wires and adaptors along with me.

MagSafe duo can charge 3 devices for me and it's foldable so I can even put inside my pocket and go. Carrying too many wires and adaptors gets annoying because then you also have to carry multi socket plug along.

And I've been saying this all the time, all the duo and 3in1 wireless chargers are above $100-$150. I don't see Apple pricing expensive like it always does.

It's in the very last photo in the slide. In Germany too so I guess it's in every store. Weird that only one photo show's it that visible. I really hope it's not that way.
Something apole’s design team might not be particularly proud of

I'm sure Tim Cook is out there slaughtering the cows and tanning the leather as we speak.
And thinking, “hmm, what can I do with all these leather scraps? I know, the iphone ‘nano’ leather case, a case that only protects the corners of your iphone!”

I’m usually happy to pay the Apple tax on their stuff but this is a hard no for me. I bought an Anker wireless charging station on a Prime day special and its been really nice. No its not as nice as the apple one to the touch but it works and was only 20 dollars.

The MagSafe duo was in an Engadget video. The reviewer picked up the phone...and it picks up the charger from the magnetic force. For $148 all in (Buying a dedicated $20 20w plug, as it is not included.) This thing is highway robbery by apple, with a crappy design to boot.

I was actually excited for this because I want a simple charger to magnetically snap in (with a light force) but still allow you to pick the thing up without slinging the charger all over the place.
