Nope, just frustrated users, some with tens of thousands invested in the platform.

If he was an Apple user, he would know that Apple is not removing AirPlay, but he read that Apple is discontinuing "Airsomething" in other post, so that must be it, start hating...

(But I am really considering getting one Surface Studio to try, instead of the usual iMac).

Good. Excelent, but don't say it doesn't have its limitations and it's not much more expensive (more than $1000) than a comparable 5K iMac even...

I don't know what the original poster means by saying "goodbye" to Airplay, but Airplay is rather frustrating to use all too often.

Good luck with Windows version... oh wait...

I find AirPlay quite reliable, never has a problem.

Slowly, I am moving away from Apple. I don't want to, but ads alone don't keep customers in the long run.

It's a free market, enjoy.

I actually enjoyed the ad. In a time where there is way too much hatred in the world, it sends a positive message of acceptance, even if fueled by a holiday celebrated by only a portion of the world.
I was wondering if anyone else picked up on the political/social undertones.

The message from Apple: open your heart to every dongle they made for the holiday. Cheers on frankenteining our MacBooks and iPhones with dongles to work like the way we need it.:D

Yes, I think that was clearly part of the message....inclusiveness and openness.

Also, I read the cynical comments, and I understand. For folks that are a few decades younger than me (I am 56 y.o.), I will let you know that the cynicism that has crept into my personality over the years is probably the trait I would most like to change. Just saying; it's not attractive or endearing....just exhausting...well, that's what I have been told.

Anyway, I thought it was a nice Ad with a positive and timely message.

I saw christmas ads at halloween. We still haven't gotten past thanksgiving and the streets are decorated with Christmas. Today on the bus I heard people saying happy holidays. This ad is okay, I guess.

BUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? WHEN DID CHRISTMAS START IN OCTOBER? THIS CONSUMPTION FRENZY WORLD WILL HAVE CHRISTMAS STARTING IN FEBRUARY SOON.

For the record, Christmas starts December 24 and and ends January 6 -- 12 days of christmas. NOT 12 months of Christmas.

/rant

(sorry, I should wait till after the turkey is sliced before ranting)
I've been hearing this rant repeated for more than forty of my 50+ years. It isn't new, and it wasn't even new then. I was just too young to hear it.

I am tired of these extra cheesy ads, I know its supposed to send a good message but it does not reflect reality

Guys... it's not Frankenstein... it's Tim Cook in 10 years. :p

I guess they should show family members brawling in the front yard throwing Christmas decorations at each other after a heated discussion on politics. A slow-mo shot of an iPhone twirling through the air playing a nice christmas jingle until it ends up beaning one of them on the forehead knocking them to the ground.

About as naff as Naffy Nafferson the fuzzy brained fan-boy opening his new MBP and huge christmas stocking of dongles while all his cash slithers silently into Scrooge McApple's slavering maw. Meanwhile the malevolent Ivey Clinton-Cook manufactures even more mean, myopic mayhem.

I think it is a clever ad that doesn't beat you over the head. The ad starts by showing off the fact that he's an intelligent being before showing what he looks like. I love the picture of a castle on the tea cup and the portrait of Mary Shelly on the wall and that one of the sounds on his phone is a lightning strike. The look of worry and trepidation on Frankie's face when he starts singing and the smile when everyone else starts singing with him is a great job of acting.

They are saving that for the Super Bowl ad.

It should be Apple that 'open their heart to everyone'.
Right now, they seem to have no heart: increasing prices, removing ports, causing extreme inconvenience, focusing on money alone.

They've always somewhat gone against their customers with products but now it's worse than ever, which is surprising given Tim Cooks obsession with having high revenue and growth. He needs to focus on the customer and the product soon otherwise it's going to be a repeat of Apple under John Sculley. The signs are already there.

In real life, Siri would have interrupted our protagonist in this spot and said "Your singing is slightly flat in the tonal sense of the word. Would you like me to run your voice through a Logic-Pro-grade frequency-correcting audio filter in realtime or do you want to use that new app called "POOF" that makes you instantly disappear and erases the short-term memory banks of all the extras they cast in this commercial who just heard you singing out of key?"

But seriously, I liked this commercial enough to watch it more than once. Maybe the next Apple commercial will be a continuation of this one and show him getting a Valentine's Day balloon message on his new Apple iPhone 7 Plus, sent from a secret-no-more admirer in the crowd (in this commercial) who was originally hired as an expert sniper by the KGB to take him out assassination-style for defecting decades ago. But that was before she became deeply enamored with his soothing singing voice and that hot little twinkle he gets on both sides of his neck, this being one of the first things she noticed about him that one enchanted evening when she first laid eyes on his monstrous disposition knowing this was "love at first light".

Young Frankenstein with gene wilder did not star Brad Garrett.
No, the guy who played the grandfather/father of Raymond and Brother was Peter Boyle, who was in Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein as has been pointed out by others before in this thread.
