Is anyone else having bluetooth issues? It may be mentioned in here somewhere already. My AirPods will not stay connected for more than about five seconds.

And still no Bluetooth-indicator on my 5S in the statusbar. Agghhhhhh. Did leave feedback fot the fourth time.

This. 1500 times this. I've lost count of how many times I started blasting my embarassing music from the speaker instead of my headphones because the indicator isn't there anymore.

Fast and Furious got worse with each release. The opposite has been true for the iOS betas.

I wouldn't complain about regular improvements to a beta before release.

I was not a fan of those movies until someone told me to watch Fast 5 or whatever the called the 5th one. Myself and many others consider the series an outlier in the fact it’s later sequels are better than the original and early sequels. Six is not that great (still better than most), seven is outstanding. Mission impossible is one of the only other franchises that has done this too. The most recent one was outstanding!

I think I'll jump in at this stage. iOS11 Beta put me off beta testing this time around :(
I think this is the only one I haven't partaken in since iOS6 from the start and it seems I missed one of the most stable betas ever! Typical.

updated on my iPad mini 2. This small wonderful device has actually become usable again.
Well that would be good news! It is literally pointless to use the iPad Mini 2 with iOS11, even as a every now and then kitchen device. It is such a shame, really! But, it’s great to hear that it comes back to life with iOS12! I will enroll it and bless it with some better code! Thanks for the info!

Is anyone getting a pop up dialogue to update the iOS?

I am on this latest public beta, and I am getting the message upon the screen unlock.
I had the same! Right after unlock, before sim unlock on iPhone 7 Plus.

[doublepost=1535407942][/doublepost]Unfortunately they have not yet made waze available on Apple CarPlay as promised.
That is up to Waze to make it public, it’s not in any way related to iOS, if I’m not mistaken.
Did any beta iOS 12 have any other navigation app available on Carplay at all? I guess this is the playground for the respective app developers, and soon after the Gm release, updates of these will pop up in our App Store for the common people.
[doublepost=1535487090][/doublepost]
The GM is not a beta. And it will actually be released after the Special Event keynote as “iOS 12”
Also to recognize a beta from a GM look at the build number:
• Beta: 16A5365b
• GM: 16A365
Still would be 16A5365 (you made a typo there: one would never have a 365 as a GM after a 5365b)
A GM is never a real update compared to a beta. It always is - to my little knowledge - a beta gone public as a GM, since it has been judged to be good enough for a public release.

The “b” at the end just shows that one got it before release. Afterwards, common people get the identical code, with the b chopped off of the name.

All imho

I’m not running the betas but can anyone who is confirm for me that Apple Music now allows you to organise/sort your music as “recently added”. I never renewed my Apple Music subscription back when it first launched due to this feature not being present. Today I finally renewed and I can’t believe this feature still isn’t available in the current iOS. This is literally a make or break for me. If this feature isn’t within iOS 12, I’ll be sticking with Spotify.
Newly added is newly added. If one wants to pop in other music (?) in an automatically generated list, change the order of songs or oranise it in any other way, perhaps the error is in that brain rather than in the service?
You can easily make a playlist for your order of things, what is the so obvious big error in this context?
To me it sounds like spotify makes a list of newly added songs, and you can change the order of songs there. I see no advantage or any reason for that, to be honest, but I can understand that you miss it. Other service, other features, ya know.
By the way, Apple Music as a service, would that have such features update in an ios beta? Honestly, idk.

iOS 12 has made me fall in love with iOS again. It just doesn’t fail. It works quickly and is rock solid for me so far. I’m with you on this one.
On what device are you? With a 7 Plus, it’s been a bumpy road, really. To that extent that I had to give up my phone at times: freezing, respringing, slow sharings (sound familiar)...
It feels like the improvements are majorly felt on 8/X devices...

CarPlay crackle and pop still not listed as a known issue yet? CarPlay has been broken since 11.3!
And when it works, and your kid wants you to supply a hotspot with that iphone: boom! CarPlay gone.
It’s been back kinda in a stable way since the previous release however. (Wireless carplay in a BMW 5 here)

There is a high chance that nobody is reading those.

Have you ever got anything in your inbox? Feedback app might be somewhat usable, but inbox function of that app is just waste of time and space.
totally agree! I believe I had two or three messages in there asking if a certain issue persisted after a next update.

Really? When I open the music app and go to my downloaded songs, the only options I have from clicking sort in the top right hand corner is “Title” or “Artist”, no option for recently added.
Meh:

Thanks for your reply. But I’m pretty much aware there is a recently added section within Apple Music. I don’t believe your understanding what I am asking. When selecting your downloaded “songs” the options to display your downloaded songs currently within iOS 11 is as “title” or “artist”. What I am asking is if there is the feature within iOS 12 to change this to “recently added” or “date” order. When listening to my music this would be my preferred way to listen.

Don’t worry though. I’ve found my answer without any sarcastic remarks via twitter. iOS 12 will provide the option within Apple Music to organise my downloaded songs within a “recently added” order.

Well indeed, you are right! My bad...

I never ever used it in that way, as I am a playlist junkie. I have plenty of them, and one of them is a smart list, containing most recent songs (okay, these were mostly fixed on iTunes on a Mac).

I found it here too, and may perhaps use it in the future. If you do it, there might be a good deal of advantages to it.

My apologies!

No problem! Guessing your running the iOS 12 betas too? The smart playlists seem very appealing. Shame a lot of actions still have to be utilised via iTunes and not directly within the app :(

This is so weird. No update for me. My iPhone X is still on 16A5364a and it says the software is up to date. My iPad Pro got updated yesterday.

iOS 12 is probably the best beta cycle they have had so far. I've only noticed a few non-triggering bugs on iPad mini 3 in the earlier releases, as a whole it's been quite stable.

No, but the new release of Open VPN 3.0 does. (Came out today.)

I’m running now on version 3 it updated automatically yesterday. Description of the app didn’t say anything about iOS 12 compatibility. Where did you see that? or are you already running OpenVPN Connect 3 over latest beta of iOS 12?

It was rumored to fix the issue while it (OpenVPN) was in private beta for 3.x. Once it updated and I was able to get it, I tested it on IOS 12, and it works great for me.

The iOS 12 public beta was running wonderfully on my iPad Mini so I bit the bullet and put it on my iPhone. Seems very smooth on my SE.

Bluetooth symbol is still missing in the top bar. Very annoying

Mine too, but I didn’t notice until you mentioned it.

What’s the reason for having it there? Looking at my top bar, cell branding and signal strength to know what you have. WiFi to know if you’re burning your cell or home data. GPS, I wish would go away. And battery to know where I’m at. Bluetooth isn’t needed, unless it’s showing how much battery is left on my speakers, and maybe that it’s outputting to speakers.

Hmmmm… I use a Plantronics Voyager Edge headset--must to use the phone because of hearing impairment--and that model reports battery usage to iOS; if the Bluetooth indicator goes, I wonder if that means I'll lose the battery indicator too. Additionally, to answer the question, because of myriad iOS Bluetooth problems mostly involving A2DP usage by mono headsets, I have disabled A2DP in my headset and need/use the Bluetooth indicator to show that my headset is connected. (In other words, did I turn my headset off and forget about that?)

Perhaps I need to start doing some testing with my headset and iOS 12. I rue doing so, because of the sheer number of bug reports I've had to file against the Bluetooth implementations for the past several years. I'm rather operating on the idea that if I just ignore it all, Apple might accidentally "get it right". Heh, not bloody likely, but it is less anxiety-inducing.

Pencil and BeatsX battery levels can be found in the Batteries widget to the left of the Home screen. Perhaps your device can be too? (I’m using the latest iOS 12 public beta.)
