This is only my opinion. The adoption of lockscreen widgets, changes in Messages...Everything you can do in messages. Widgets on homescreen. Notification pull down. To me...Things like this is what attracted me to Android. If Apple would finally allow us to move icons around how we please, mount the storage like an external usable drive, be able to manage the phone w/out iTunes and allow widgets to be placed anywhere, it would surpass the Android ecosystem...again, in my opinion.

Ok fair assessment....

You need to manage the phone with iTunes? Why? The only time anyone in my household plugs their phone into their computer is when I do so in order to use it for app development. My wife and daughter haven't plugged into iTunes in at least a year.

Well, I've had many Android phones and a photo album from each, so photo folders called Note7, G5, V20, S7, etc. I need iTunes to sync those folders. Aside from that I don't need it.

Ah, so it's android's fault :) (Presumably you could use iCloud photo syncing in the photos app to sync it that way, anyway?)

Any improvement in Bluetooth functionality not mentioned in release notes explicitly? Since their work on it with 10.1.1, have had some issues streaming in the car as have others from poking around here.

I still have issues with BT audio cutting out on my Bose QC35s and Jaybird X2s on 10.2, albeit less frequently, but it still happens and is still annoying. I'm installing PB5, I'll let you know if this is the one that finally fixes it for good.

Well, that might be ok for someone that doesn't have a very large collection of CD's that want ripped and added to your phone. iTunes is the only means to do that. I am not going to pay apple again for songs I have already purchased or new songs I purchase on the OUT DATED CD platform. Also, I am giving apple any of my money to back those up in the cloud either, especially before I take my phone into the apple store for work to be done one it. I already paid for hard drive space on my computer, why would I want to give more money away to apple? But, I get your point as well, for me iTunes is needed and for the rest of my family as well.

... and it has gotten boring with unexpected bugs lurking around the corner.

Bugs lurking around the corner? Software is man-made and it will never be perfect, otherwise there wouldn't be updates beyond an initial release.

Do you think iOS 10.2 is be the biggest 10.x release?

It depends on if you use TV functionality on your phone (10.2) or have a 7+ and use the dual-camera features (10.1). Who knows what 10.3 and beyond will bring.

Good.

Beta 4 was super buggy for me, everything from Notification Center (some widgets missing altogether), TV app (to be fair, it's always been super buggy), haptic engine stop working (requiring reboot), to name a few.

Anyone else experience devastating lag while typing on iOS 10 PB4? Hopefully PB5 fixes this issue.

10.2 PB5 update installed smoothly on my 6S Plus. Build 14C89.

Have no idea what bugs they've fixed or what new emojis they added in this build. I've been using 10.2 as my daily driver since PB3 with no problems. Fingers crossed that will continue...

No lowercase letter in the build number, so, likely the final release?

Here we go with the emoji haters again.....It's the people who honestly have no clue how the whole emoji thing works who make me hate every single 10.2 thread on MR. Pointless to even post about it.

Has MR ever thought about creating a site called MacHaters? Imagine the revenue the amount of childish complainers would give you!

I was going to upgrade to Beta 4 this weekend but Apple surprises me by bringing out Beta 5 before I could even think about it!

Still on Beta 3 for now, hopefully battery life will improve a little with B5.

While I remember some complaint with every release, it seems a bit different with iOS 10. There's a 50 page thread on the significant decrease in battery life...
There have been fairly long and multiple threads with various previous iOS versions.

I believe there have been some final releases recently with letters in them (at least for some phones).

Might've just been me, but beta 4 gave me serious issues with my Touch ID sensor, and wouldn't unlock the phone most times. So far so good with Beat 5 on my 7+

I just want to know if anyone else is having problems with storage and iOS10 storing huge amounts of unnecessary data on their phones in the background. Is that going to be fixed or is that the way it is?

"devastating"? What device? Not seen anything devastating on iP6s from any of the betas.

Yeah well that was the thought Monday too when 14C82 (beta 4) dropped with no small letter. Guess not :) But I would suspect it is unless something turns up in the next few days. Who really knows tho, we may get beta 6 Monday or next week.

Hope the quick turnaround means final release is around the corner and 10.3 beta is coming up. Fingers crossed for Photos facetag syncing across devices...

I use iTunes Match for that. All my cds (something like 10000 songs) sit on my mac at home and they are available on-demand on my idevices. Worth it to not have to separately manage playlists (as each user in my family cares about a different set of songs) and plug-in every time i get new aac's.
