Native applications open a bit quicker and the Desktop & Screen Saver no longer locks up or lags. System Preferences overall appears to perform better. I don't know if anyone else has had issues but I definitely noticed an improvement on my iMac.
Thanks for confirming. Glad to hear your report.

In these threads I've posted about a dozen times about the beta being slow and all. Specially system preference and app opening/closing timing, screen saver very laggy, facetime not working, AirPods not working etc etc. My main questions all over was whether or not this issue is going to be solved in the final release or not (Given Mojave was my first beta experience). I've been waiting to see if the bluetooth problem with headphones is fixed or not.

Good to hear that things are taking a turn towards the good side.

I don't know what it is, but I also look forward to the new wallpapers. I don't know why lol. But one of the first things I try out with new iOS or mac updates are the new wallpapers, hell, one of the features I am most excited for is that dynamic wallpaper on Mac.I wish they would do something like that on the iPhone.

WARNING:
My Mac rebooted to a black screen with a disabled symbol, and I’m currently in recovery mode trying to repair my disk. Restarting and going into single user mode gave the same system directory error. Beware!

Note that I am using a 2015 rMBP.

Same thing happened on my 2015 rMBP.

Same thing happened to me also. I'm on 2017 MBP.

And the same thing just happened to me on a 2.6 GHz i7 Mac mini (late 2012). I was updating from DB 4.

I'm currently running Disk Utility in Recovery Mode. I have a bootable clone made before the update and a Time Machine backup, so I have options.

Edited: Disk Utility shows my boot Fusion Drive as an APFS volume now, one which fails S.O.S. error checking. Did DB 5 attempt to convert to APFS and fail? I'm having to reformat my Fusion Drive, because it seems to be hopelessly corrupted. My only options for reformatting? APFS.

Edited: I reformatted as APFS, and I'm restoring from a 57-minute-old Time Machine backup. Time remaing: a little less than 4 hours.

Edited: The restore is proceeding, but the initial time estimate was short. It's going to end up taking a little over 6 hours to restore, or long after I'm in bed.

How is my App Store still broken? I keep getting Error -999 even after every diagnostic thing tried...I mean I deleted Cache, Cookies, Prefs for the App Store, and it still doesn't seem to work :/ Is it working for you guys?

App Store working great for me since Beta 2.

Probably a silly suggestion, but I assume you've logged out and logged back in to the App Store? I had similar issues, which that fixed.

Lol I cleared my prefs etc. and it logged me out, but now I can't log back in lol Any suggestions as to which files I can completely clear out so I can try this as if it were a fresh install? Thanks for the suggestion btw lol

Dashboard seems to be gone, has Apple finally killed it?

EDIT: never mind just needs to be re enabled

Works fine here.

It’s also sad that a lot of the new “features” of Mojave could have just been released as normal fixes/updates, and not as a new upgrade...

My iMessages are all out of whack. Some show. Some don't. Can't start a new message from the app. Had to go to my phone first then back to my Mac.

2015 rMBP

That's just minor cosmetic stuff. Not really important. I'd rather they spend time nailing bugs than wasting time on the garnish.

In 18A347e pretty much all the issues have been fixed I noticed in previous versions. Stable and fast as well.

Good point, the best bet would be to use internet recovery IMO to get the bits from Apple. I think for a while the 2018 HS file was not even available correct?
[doublepost=1532972384][/doublepost]Curious if this includes the performance updates that came out as a patch for HS last week for the 2018 MBP?
My brother is always working with apple engineers. The current issue is as follows. 2018 MacBook Pro 15 inch models do not even have a operating system ready for them yet. Mojave also not ready for them. Wi-fi, display, video ect... are all using legacy ktexts. Also bootcamp is not ready either. On a 2018 MacBook go to network utility and you will see that the wifi is stuck at 54mb/sec. so basically when you internet recover, You are loading 2017 MacBook Pro software. and must wait till September 23rd before the next update to Add support for the 2018 MacBook pro's and also NO the recovery does NOT include the supplemental update as it was flawed. It only helped the 2.9 but the 2.6 i7 is still facing issues with throttle and performance.

Was crossing my fingers they might release this a day earlier rather than Tuesday as expected since Mojave on the new MBP has been so rough from not being able to reduce brightness from anything other than 100%, not being able to use siri, camera issues, screen not turning on consistently when battery dies, white screens in browsing among many other things relating to T2. And hopefully fixes the throttling issue that they fixed in High Sierra supplemental update. Fingers crossed since the betas on the non 2018 MBP have been so smooth (relatively).
If you read my post you will understand that Apple has NO OPERATING SYSTEM that is 2018 MacBook Pro ready, Including Mojave.

I didnt say about that I said the 2018 MacBook update high Sierra got for throttle issue
read my posts, the UPDATE only applies to the 2018 i9. Does not address processor issues with the i7 2018. Apple has no operating system that is ready for 2018 MacBook. Apple plans a release of another update on September 23 2018 per the apple engineering team. But as of right now. all 2018 MacBooks are running 2017 Legacy Ktexts

For the 100th time can someone tell me the trottle fix is included in this beta

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming macOS Mojave update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after releasing the fourth beta and more than a month after introducing the software at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

macOS Mojave introduces a new method of installing software updates, so after you've installed the first beta using the appropriate profile from the Developer Center, additional betas can be downloaded clicking on the Apple in the menu bar, choosing "About This Mac" and clicking "Software Update." Alternatively, open System Preferences and choose the "Software Update" icon.

Apple's macOS Mojave update introduces a systemwide Dark Mode, with Mojave users able to choose between a light theme or the new dark theme, which changes the color of the dock, menu bar, apps, and other elements. Dark Mode is accompanied by Dynamic Desktops, aka wallpapers that subtly change throughout the day. Additional wallpapers were introduced in the fourth beta.

Stacks, a new desktop organization system, keeps all of your desktop files neat and organized, while Finder has been enhanced with a Gallery View, a Sidebar, a revamped Quick Look option and Quick Actions, so you can do more in the Finder window than ever before.

Screenshots can now be edited using Markup tools and a new management options that also allow for easy screen recording, while Continuity camera, a new feature, allows you to import photos and document scans directly from an iPhone or iPad to the Mac.

The Apple News, Stocks, Home, and Voice Memos apps have been ported from iOS to macOS as part of a multiyear project Apple is working on to make it easier to bring iOS apps to Macs, and Apple has introduced several new privacy protections to keep your data safer than ever.

Apple is also making it harder for websites to track you with a range of new Safari tools, and it's also easier to make and store secure, hard-to-guess passwords for each and every website.

Apple has added an entirely revamped Mac App Store to macOS Mojave that makes it easier to discover apps with a featured section and specific categories for games, creative apps, productivity apps, apps for developers, and more.

macOS Mojave is available to developers and public beta testers to work out bugs and other issues ahead of an upcoming fall public release.

What's New in Beta 5: macOS Mojave beta 5 introduces several new wallpapers appropriate for use with Dark Mode. There are several wallpapers that feature images of the Mojave desert, along with new abstract oil slick-style wallpapers, new dark flower wallpapers, images that have been used to promote recent Mac refreshes, and more.

You can get to the new wallpapers by opening up System Preferences, choosing the Desktop & Screensaver option, and selecting Desktop Pictures.

Well 12.4 was an improvement over 12.3. Lets see what 12.5 has to offer!

Dual & Triple on an iMac without a problem!
[doublepost=1533010513][/doublepost]

And why would that be bad?

And where did I exactly say that it is bad?

New in this beta is if you right click on a app you can force it to use a eGPU. this is nice too have instead of that risky Terminal method.

This is what I think Windows does much better than the Mac: it heavily relies on GUI, and command line in Windows is almost useless for most of the stuff.

While it is completely opposite with the OS X, to use it to the full potential you HAVE to use the command line.
