Can I ask how did you revert ?Same here. I filed feedback and have now reverted back to 12.5 b4.
But now my Messages aren't showing with 12.5 b4.
EDIT: Logging out of Messages and logging back in fixed the Messages problem after going back to 12.5 b4
I downloaded the full installer for 12.5 b4 from the Apple servers via the link on the Mr Macintosh website. Can I ask how did you revert ?
Safari along with Edge, Brave Chrome & Firefox. Safari & Edge only opening first link clicked from an e mail, 2nd link & nothing happens. The others are not opening at all - all worked fine with he previous BetaAnyone else seeing Safari not opening a new browser window with a Cmd-n if you don't already have a browser window open?
Your still are using the newer system FW from 12.5 b5, as a FYI. Shouldn’t be a problem with your work around for issue.I downloaded the full installer for 12.5 b4 from the Apple servers via the link on the Mr Macintosh website.
Holy crap! I had no idea this existed. thanks for the link!I downloaded the full installer for 12.5 b4 from the Apple servers via the link on the Mr Macintosh website.

Something horrible here - right click on Documents or Applications in the dock and click "Open in Finder" and I get an error, "The application Finder can't be opened -609".
Finder can still be opened by double clicking the Macintosh HD icon.
Upgraded from b4. The only other new thing was uninstalling Intel MS Teams and installing AS MS Teams.

You might want to reread jscol's post. They reverted to B4, then Messages stopped working until they logged out/in of iMessage. For me, disabling BetterTouchTool stopped these pop ups. As soon as I go to enable it again, those same errors come up over and over and over....
It's disheartening to see that just logging out of Messages fixed it for you.
I just ran the full installer for b4 on top of the 12.5 b5 installation, just like an upgrade (i.e. no need to do a wipe and install, or restore from back-up). The only problem I encountered was with Messages as mentioned earlier, but that was easily fixed by logging out of Messages and back in again.Cool, thanks, can one install 12.5 b4 over 12.5 b5... i.e. like an upgrade, or does one have to do a complete install from fresh and restore from backup etc... I would like to roll back to b4 but only if a fairly quick rollback....
Thanks in advance..
A.

Also, clicking on minimized applications in the dock isn't opening the window. I have to right-click and select a window (even if there's only one) from the list. It's not consistent though - some work and some do not.
I'm actually glad to see the Applescript problem isn't just an issue with Terminal, that means it's a wider bug more likely to be fixed quickly.Using Applescript to manipulate Finder windows seems to be hosed.
Dropbox is behaving weirdly.
Apps that scrobble Music -- like Neptunes.app are not working.
Craziest beta I have seen in a while.

Given that Apple put an emoji key on recent Macbooks (bottom left corner, doubles as function key) I'd say they expect MacOS users to use them frequently too.MacOS users aren't so much into emojis, thats iOS mostly.![]()

Indeed, I am aware that the 12.5 b5 firmware and restore utility are still on the b5 version using this method, but reverting to b4 system software is enough to solve the issues I was having. When 12.5 is finally released, I'll run that full installer to update the firmware, if necessary.
Same here. It also kinda shows that just because it's an "a" build doesn't mean it's any more stable or near final.Just backed out to 12.5 b4 (i.e. reinstalled over the top of 12.5 b5) and all ok now.
There was a bunch of other odd things - e.g. applications wouldn't quit - which are ok again.
Beta 2 to 3 to 4 all had gradual improvements, but b5 was a bit of a disaster for me.

Windows emoji don't include country flags, unless you install a third-party typeface. You would be surprised, I was on Windows 11, pressed Windows key + . to enter the flag of my home country and couldn’t find it. Switched over to Big Sur and done. These little things sometimes turn out to be a big deal.
