Is Night Shift good enough to drop f.lux for?
No. The main point with F.lux (in my opinion), is being able to use a moderate/light setting during the day for a slightly less harsh/blue-ish monitor, and having a more intense setting at evening/night. Night Shift is simply on/off. If Night Shift implemented 2-3 different settings depending on the time of day, I would ditch F.lux in a second.

This is a bug fixing update and also major releases should be stable as well. Apple shouldn't be postponing stability fixes at all, it should be stable from the ge

I know and I agree but sadly the trough are not like that sierra was and are still not stable.

The OS runs off of an SSD in a Fusion Drive setup. Unless you've rolled a custom setup and done something... a little weird.
I thought it shuffled most used programs and files to the SSD part for faster loading times. If you never use the calculator or Pages or Unix command-line tools (anything part of the OS) don’t they get relegated to the HDD part?

I don't care for color stuff some third party apps could do if someone wanted it, call me when "save as" starts "saving as" again without duplicating the window and wasting my time.

IMO ... nightshift is not such an important feature.... particularly for a non-mobile operating system.
The vast majority of workforce don't look at their computer screens at night so this doesn't benefit them.

Apple should spend their effort improving other areas of OSX.
I disagree. While Night Shift may not be a tentpole feature, it brings parity between Apple products and my eyes thank me when I am working late at night. I never really liked f.lux, from its transition effect, bugs, to extreme default options (and configuring isn't as easy as I would like). Night Shift is drop dead easy to use and extremely usable out of the box.

Umm, how did you conclude that Apple is NOT spending time improving other areas?? Really, that is a very odd comment. Maybe you didn't think about it, but Apple has multiple teams working on macOS. Some fix bugs, some prepare bug fix releases, some work on next versions/new features etc.

Also I haven't seen that Night Shift can be disabled on a per-app basis, as f.lux can. But as someone else said, the default settings on f.lux are ridiculously harsh and requires fine tuning.

"cricket scores" - They need to appeal to India as they are doing for China, revenue, revenue, revenue. That is all that matters now. A profitable company at the cost of image.

I didn't know *cricket* is only limited to India ... hmm..

I assume Apple is not going to fix the WIFI support issues since it only affects all the Mac Pro users they neglected for so many years, like they're doing again.

I have a problem with a company that deliberately disables their own hardware and has a shorter support span than Microsoft. Not that Steve Jobs wouldn't be proud of *******ning completely capable PRO machines, but they doesn't make it any less wrong. :(

Yes, that's true for apps, like calculator or pages. But those aren't part of the OS, they're just included. Or at least, the calculator is. Pages is a download through the Mac App Store unless you're buying a brand-new device. But the OS itself, and I would imagine anything related to the kernal like the unix command line, would stay on the SSD.

Does anyone know if this Beta fixes the black screen issue? (You close your rMPD and a few hours later when you open the lid the screen is black, the only fix is to enter your password and it works) Apple said they are aware of it and I don't see anything related to the bug. Crosses fingers!!!!!

That's a pretty narrow view of things.

Bugs get fixed based on a priority list. A bug can be annoying but not a show stopper and would be lower down on the priority list. I know, I know, your bug is the most important thing to you but maybe not in the grand scheme of things.

Exactly!! A stable OS!!

macOS 10.12.3 is quite stable with very few show stoppers, if any. One glitch at a time, one glitch at a time.

The dot update actually brings quite a lot to the plate. Just check out API-diffs, there are plenty of things under the hood. Night Shift is only cosmetic. APFS is a really substancial update, I would not expect a bug change like that until WWDC, but christmas is coming early.

Wonder why iOS 10.3 didn't get another beta today.. Nothing much has been changing with the past few builds though so Im not too bummed.

Reading through the comments - it is amazing how people are whining about the fact that Apple didn't magically make their 2009 Mac spring back to life. Really, is that the sort of quality of discourse that takes place here? no wonder this place is a running joke on most other websites.

Regarding 10.2.4 - IIRC Safari has been updated to 10.1 and I'm sure there are some bug fixes on the way but keep in mind that this is a bug fix not a feature release. Really, I hear people here whine when Apple focuses too much on features and when Apple takes their foot of the peddle to focus on bug fixes you have a new chorus of whiners going on about how there is a lack of new features.

Damn. That's a pretty bold statement. <ba dum tss>:D

Apologies for making light of your predicament. The pun. It was just sitting there... and I'm so weak.
Hopefully they'll get around to remembering the Mac Pro actually exists.

Has anyone experienced and bugs with Messages or FaceTime app in this (or earlier betas)?
