It all smells like RC by Thursday or Friday, and Final Release by Tuesday PM.
I can’t wait!
I can’t wait!
Apple controls the hardware/os stack pretty tight so either than weird “we can do this but third parties can’t” level stuff that might cause unexpected behaviour/incompatibilities (this is different than a bug and could be thought of as something third parties are incapable of supporting themselves without Apple ie. multitouch trackpad on iPad) it should be easy….They still haven’t fixed 3rd party accessories with universal control … wonder how technical/hard it is to fix it (genuine curiosity, not sarcasm).
Universal Control is just as magical as they made it seem in the introduction. For my use case, I have an iPad logged into slack all the time, and just flicking the cursor over there to control and type is so useful.Universal Control sounds promising. Bring it on.
It really is magical. I didn’t have to do anything to set it up. One of those “it just works” moments.Universal Control is just as magical as they made it seem in the introduction. it really seems like All of US Intel Mac users are gonna get left with a buggy unfinished macOS as the final OS that runs on Intel Macs. I was afraid of this.
They are doing this on purpose to force everyone to buy into their APPLE silicon future.
I don't like it
Cheap defective screens on the laptops.
All you can fix yourself is replace the laptop battery.
everything else is non upgradable.
they will probable enforce only software installs from the APP Store.
This is the Future.
Monterey runs just fine on my 2017 iMac, and it looks like you have a wonderful future with Intel and Windows. And you’ve known since June 2020 what Apples future is, so get over itit really seems like All of US Intel Mac users are gonna get left with a buggy unfinished macOS as the final OS that runs on Intel Macs. Are you claiming that "all" Intel Macs will dead-end on Monterey? How can that be, when Intel Macs are being sold right now?it really seems like All of US Intel Mac users are gonna get left with a buggy unfinished macOS as the final OS that runs on Intel Macs. I was afraid of this.
Just ignore him, MacOS will be supporting x86 for some time. As another member pointed out a business’s IT group that refreshes their enterprise computers every 3 to 4 years doesn’t want to be told that suddenly the expensive desktop, laptop, workstation they procured in quantity are no longer supported without considerable advance notice. They spend a fortune purchasing and licensing the hardware & software they use.Are you claiming that "all" Intel Macs will dead-end on Monterey? M1s never had a good release of macOS on the other handit really seems like All of US Intel Mac users are gonna get left with a buggy unfinished macOS as the final OS that runs on Intel Macs. I was afraid of this.

A lot to read into this comment. third party accessories? are you meaning you are having trouble with third-party keyboards, mice and trackpads? Because it won't work with Galaxy tabs anyway, LOL. There is a lot that could go awry with third party not being quite up to the same technical spec. Interested in hearing moreThey still haven’t fixed 3rd party accessories with universal control … wonder how technical/hard it is to fix it (genuine curiosity, not sarcasm).
Nice meme, properly cooled desktops don't get any hotter any of m1 machinesI also have quite a powerful desktop PC. 5950x rtx 3080TI
But this is definitely not the future - more like another step into that direction.
It does help with the house heating during the winter. Not looking forward to the summer though….
I'm not seeing any USB issues, please explainmaybe this time they'll fix the darn USB bugs....
They consume a lot more.Nice meme, properly cooled desktops don't get any hotter any of m1 machines
I do not have that issue, and you have graced us with no information. How old is drive, is the firmware up to date, are you using WD crapware (don't - it will cost you data), version of USB, going through unpowered hub (mine won't work well unless USBC power in is used as well), drive format, have you run Disk Utility repair? See so much.I hope they fixed the USB Drive taking minutes long to be recognized...It's only ever happened since I updated from Big Sur last year.
tap to click works great on my M1 MBP. The very first beta release that I had had laggy trackpad issues, that was fixed within a week with a new release, has been operating great since then. Have you gone to settings trackpad and settings/accessibility/pointer control and adjusted settings to your liking? I find that I have to adjust these to my preferences. Double click speed to one tick from slow, scrolling with inertia, three finger drag, medium click speed, force click off. This are preferences, but they work for meAny with MBP 14 can see if this is fixed?

Tap-to-click issues on B9 and 10 (and now Monterey release)
Hi all, First experience with Monterey has been with B9 but B10 has same issue - has anyone had issues with tap-to-click? I have a M1 MBA, and very frequently TTC doesn't register my first click. Normal clicks seem to work fine. Tried turning on and off. Anyone experiencing this?forums.macrumors.com
