Apple Seeds Fifth OS X El Capitan Beta to Public Beta Testers [Update: Pulled]

Ok maybe its just me, but I don't really have a problem finding my mouse. Not sure exactly who this "feature" is aimed at.

It's useful if you're using big monitors and/or dual/triple monitor setups.

On my Air, it's not a big problem but on my 27" iMac, I lost the cursor dozens of time every day. When I had multiple monitors, yea, I lose it all the time.

It is even worse when you're in the dark environment with dark wallpaper with a dark cursor.

Mine used to not wake up after 1 hour of sleep. Now, I've turned off sleep completely (running Caffeine) as it won't wake up at all (once it goes to sleep) and requires a hard reboot. :-(

Clear PRAM and if that doesn't help, reset the SMC.
Those two steps usually help fix a lot of these non-sense problems.
Two last resources before giving up: Run a Disk Repair and then Fix Permissions.

I'm stuck on Beta 3. Beta 4 doesn't show up in my software update.

EDIT: Ok, am running Beta 4 according to the build number but software update only shows I've downloaded beta 2 and beta 3.

I'm going back to bed.

I run dual 4k displays and I'm constantly searching for the mouse. For me this will is a killer feature.

Do you know how many times people posted about this exact same "problem" on MacRumors? Interestingly enough, dirty people see this illusion instantly. Wonder why lol

Not exactly sure, but the App Store update history can be a little buggy when it comes to OS updates. The same thing happened on my rMBP in fact, with DP6 not even listed, and DP2 was "installed" multiple times a few months back as well.

Hold command+R during boot. Select "Disk Utility" from the menu that comes up once the Recovery version of OS X has loaded.

Edit: Found an online picture of the Recovery menu

Requestion: Please stop posting the same video over and over again - how about uploading a new video specifically for that build that goes into at least some details of what has changed. Really, how is it beneficial to me, as an reader, to see the same video for the same 3-4 months?

I think the latest exploit forces Apple to release El Capitan a bit earlier than planned.

The latest exploit does not affect El Capitan - or at least any builds that were deployed.

El Capitan did get rid of "repair permissions" because they are protected. If somehow something did happen (which is unlikely) they are updated whenever you update OS X.

Different versions can have different content.

That hasn't really been the case though. From what I've read the pulled Public Beta has a higher version number than the latest Developer Beta, which makes it newer.

It's not. It's behind. Just on a different release schedule.

Wrong, the "numbers" are not the same but they get almost the same things. As you can see in this link dev. beta doesn't contain these things, public does. Anyway the beta has been pulled so must have been mistake. I bet end of this week first for devs, couple hours later for public.
