I'm still getting the beach ball on this beta... it's relentless. Overall, everything is much zippier on my rMB, but for some reason it keeps hanging up on something. I can't wait until the official version is out so I can do a clean install...

Handy for those with Parkinsons disease who hated having the cursor go all 'RoidRagey.
Not to mention gamers, who have to move their mouse around a lot as a matter of course. It's pretty annoying to play most games with this "feature" enabled.

Just bear in mind Windows doesn't do full animations when windows are opening or minimising. There's a fade in and fade out in the middle of the animation that makes animations appear very quick. OSX actually does animate every frame of the scaling and zooming animations.
It's more than that. I routinely have performance issues when opening apps, opening the password dialog box, and a bunch of other things. There's a 10 second lag or so before any of these finish loading and I can interact with the interface. I have no idea what's causing it, but it isn't new to El Capitan (no, it isn't due to my 2015 rMBP's storage).

What kind of game features rapid mouse movement yet has a cursor? For the former, first-person shooters come to mind, but they don't have a cursor. For the latter, real-time strategy games, but I don't see myself doing rapid circular movements in those.

Are you on battery by chance? I got this issue a lot myself and it was resolved by disabling the Ambiet Lighting option. Someone posted it in another thread who reported a similar issue. System Preferences -> Displays -> uncheck Ambient Light compensation.

This helped me. It was unusable with that on, especially on battery only. Not clear why but it seems to re-enable/check itself back on automatically too.

Even though the cursor is hidden, it's still there. Often the rapid movement of a FPS causes this feature to trigger, revealing its hidden position, which obviously gets old after awhile.

Something will update soon....

Getting this screen now on Update (currently running ElCapitan Dev Beta #6).

I'm a little bit confused here, I take it apple released the public beta then pulled it , then i heard it was released again. but it's not showing up for me, so is it officially pulled until further notice ?

I'm trying to figure out based on these comments.

Thanks
As far as I am aware, the Public Beta 5 release was pulled and has not been reissued.

Is anyone else having sleep/wake problems? Since the first Beta, my MBA refuses to wake from sleep and auto-reboots. I mostly experience this in clamshell mode.

My iMac won't wake from sleep (if it has slept more than 12 hours). Has to be forcibly powered off and rebooted.

Mine used to not wake up after 1 hour of sleep. Now, I've turned off sleep completely (running Caffeine) as it won't wake up at all (once it goes to sleep) and requires a hard reboot. :-(

It's not. It's behind. Just on a different release schedule.
Yet this pulled public beta has new things the developer one doesn't have at this point as demonstrated in the original article. But somehow the public beta is still behind the developer one?

Different versions can have different content.

PB is not behind from DP.

DP got beta 1 & 2 before a PB was released. (Developers earlier access)

PB 1 = DP 3
PB 2 = DP 4
PB 3 = DP 5
PB 4 = DP 6
Once released PB 5 = DP 7

Builds are the same minus the minor difference of one digit off in the build number (PB 4 is 15A243d and DP6 is 15A244d) this is just to differentiate between the two but they are identical.

I'm stuck on Beta 3. Beta 4 doesn't show up in my software update.

EDIT: Ok, am running Beta 4 according to the build number but software update only shows I've downloaded beta 2 and beta 3.

I'm going back to bed. :)

Ok maybe its just me, but I don't really have a problem finding my mouse. Not sure exactly who this "feature" is aimed at.
As you get older, you'll appreciate it more. ;)

I find that the default cursor is too small for my aging eyes, and even though I've set it for a slightly larger size I sometimes can't see where I left it on the screen. So that feature is a big help for me.

I am older, but I can still see the mouse without having it wiggle in my face like fish bait...lol
