My God this is a total mess. Who is running the place?

its become an autonomous 'well oiled' machine... in a sense, no one runs it.

:p

I think apple cautiously released it as 11.2.5, because they don't wanna hype up a 11.3 to sound better than it will be

they also pumped the brakes on a beta release for a little bit, didn't they, after 11.2 GM?

I love the complaints about the version numbering. It must be a gap to leave room for smaller incremental updates, or just some internal change. But I love people equating it to poor software development or a sign that Apple is a 'mess.'

Blizzard and Chrome did these version numbering schemes before it was cool (e.g. Patch 7.3 to 7.3.2 to 7.3.5, or Chrome 62.592.4292.44 to 63.0.3239.84) [/hipster glasses]

iMessage in the Cloud...iMessage in the Cloud...iMessage in the Cloud...

iMessage in the Cloud is probably deserving of more major version change, as in 11.3, not 11.2.5. I hope to be proven wrong, of course.

Does this update deal with the problem where iPad Pro Smart Keyboards suddenly stop working after iOS updates?

I think we might see small software fixes: 11.2.2, 11.2.3 and 11.2.4 before 11.2.5 gets released?

Makes sense. Not as “feature heavy” as 11.3 but enough bug fixes to say it’s an incremental update. I think this goes back to 11.2 being released early because of the Calendar bug. Apple usually does .3 updates in the spring right before the next conference so I think 11.2 would’ve still been baking then released officially after the holidays like previous years, 11.3 beta 1 released mid-February/March. No big.

If apple follows the pattern iOS 11.3 will be next year and it will have a lot of new features (maybe iCloud iMessage? dark mode for iPhone X?)

This is Apple.. they’ll claim the iPhone X doesn’t support dark mode and you’ll be required to purchase the latest device.

What is iCloud message? Is that only keeping all your iDevices in sync and storing message in the cloud and not on your phone? If so not important to me unless I can somehow also send messages from iCloud.

I'd like for them to change the way you close programs on the X, get rid of that press and hold to activate

When you unlock the phone, instead of having to swipe from the bottom, you need to be able to swipe up anywhere on the screen or at least more of where you thumb sits naturally.

A True Dark Mode.

Get rid of the white/black bar at the bottom. I don't need a reminder to swipe up from here or at least make it an option to turn on or off in settings.

If they want to add an always on clock/calendar option I wouldn't cry about it as long as you can toggle on or off
That's pretty much it:D

first they skipped 9
now theyre skipping 2, 3 and 4

no wonder apple's been buggy lately. they cant count
Hmm you know what, I bet the calculator bug wasn't a bug after all. I bet it was supposed to be an iOS versioning tool that they re-purposed as a calculator. Or maybe they used the calculator to create all the new version #'s for upcoming releases before they fixed it.
