My guess. Mac Pro available June 5th..... 10.13.6 small update to follow on.

Apple announced the new Mac Pro would be released in 2019, so I'm thinking and hoping for a new redesigned iMac to commemorate it's 20th anniversary.

I think they are holding it because a new mac is coming on 4th, and there is something in 10.13.5 about new Mac that they dont want us to know yet

They've never had to do such in the past. If anything they issue a new update for the new machine once it's released. That's been how Apple has always done it, rather than hold back a release to wait for new hardware to be released.

on the other hand, we should see some hints about the new machine(s) in beta 1 of 10.13.6, no?

Yes, which is why I don't think it's a secrecy thing. Apple has also not been shy of releasing macs with special builds if the hardware requires it. I think they just found a small last-minute bug and 10.13.5 will come later today or tomorrow.

They have already said that the MP isn't coming this year. Maybe new MBPs, but even then I wouldn't expect 10.13.6 for a month; as I mentioned above, Apple uses special builds if new machines require changes.

It's kind of odd to release iOS version with something like Messages in iCloud that really benefits from macOS supporting it, and not release macOS version that supports it until a week later, and then to top that off release a new beta version while the last beta is still active too.

It's happened before. I remembering being confused by it previously.

Most likely answer. The final's probably got some references they're not keen on leaking.
Doesn’t seem logical. If Apple could strip the info from beta 5 they could strip if from the final version and then release a new version for ”new” Macs. There’s a risk Apple found an important bug in beta 5 and hence held the release and went straight to 10.13.6 ... just my speculation though.

I bet they will release 10.13.5 later this afternoon. Typically iOS releases come at 10am PST and then macOS releases come around 12-2pm PST, sometimes as late as 3-4pm though. I remember seeing one of their updates come out at 3:30 something.

Nah, there's no 10.13.5 yet because they had to remove Messages in iCloud, tryin' again in this beta

I am almost 100% you are wrong, AFAIK there where plenty Hardware and new OS releases on the same day, Apple waited for it to release when the new Macs where released.

Sounds like 10.13.5 should be getting released.

I hope so. Been having some minor but annoying graphics glitches on my 13" 2017 MacBook Pro.

- Mouse cursor occasionally gets corrupted with glitched graphics
- Screen fills with "static" briefly during boot/login
- When watching Netflix in full screen, occasionally the entire screen turns green and the video shrinks to only fill the top left of the screen. Switching out of full screen and back again fixes it.

Pretty sure that these issues all started with 10.13.4...

Are people convinced that we will see new Mac’s at WWDC this year? Just because they did so last year doesn’t mean they will do so this year. I would like to see something new like a redesigned iMac or something. I also think Apple need to do something about the keyboards on the new MacBook Pro’s there are now lawsuits so shouldn’t they fix those soon via a new design or something?

Work on macOS High Sierra is wrapping up, with Apple now shifting focus to the next-generation version of macOS, macOS 10.14, which will be unveiled next week at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Which will be unveiled?

How do you know that, Juli? Has Apple stated this?

Myself and many others in here have pointed out that you're incorrect. Apple just strips the support for the new hardware from the release and releases the new machine running on a supplemental updated version of the same OS version number. That's how they've always done it.

There is a long thread on this very topic where a lot of background information is given. In a nutshell: Intel new-gen CPUs are becoming available now (they were released on paper in March, but laptops with them inside are only now coming to the stores), AMD has mentioned mobile Vega chips in January, and laptop availability dates are slipping in some of the regional Apple online stores. Apple has to act if it doesn't want to be completely overtaken by the competitors who are rolling out Coffe Lake CPUs, and there is no better time for them to act but at the WWDC. I can't imagine having an additional Mac event in July, and anything later then that would be too late.

I used dosdude1's tool to force-install High Sierra on my 2008 Unibody MacBook. Whenever I try to update the computer OS it freezes then gives me an error and refuses to boot into the OS until I plug in my USB installer and repair the startup disk. Any fixes for that?

Is this while running, or trying to run, the 10.13.6 beta installer?

Ok fair point, Apple have been know to hold October events for the Mac. If they do update the Mac at WWDC do they update the Pro or do they update them all like last year including the 12” MacBook? I’ve seen comments on different threads that say the chips for the MacBook 12” are not ready yet. I agree tho Apple need to do something.

What do you mean? I've downloaded it through the App Sore with the Beta Profile installed and in the middle of the installation it will either freeze in the middle of installing it, or freeze on a black screen after it's installed.
