Yes. Just be sure that you've updated to the latest fast ring build of the Office.

Ive checked on my updates in office and selected the fast ring but it says I'm up to date, if I do have a problem can i reinstall from a back up or is that not possible once going to the new file system.

"The installer information on the recovery server is damaged."

Wow, what a mess, can't download.

Office Mac 2016 works fine if you are on the fast ring for insiders and you update before you go to High Sierra. It's also dependent on whether you upgrade to the new file system. If you don't, you'll be fine.

Wait, what! You need to upgrade to the new file system manually? Isn’t that done when you upgrade to High Sierra?

There is an option in the setup window.

As far as I know, there were some problems on (dev) beta 2, related to the new file system, so people had troubles downgrading to 10.12. The first public beta is actually a new build which was released earlier today, so probably this bug is fixed. I don't think Apple will release a public beta if it cannot be downgraded. There is a manual how to downgrade on Apple's website (https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/restore).

Although, if you really rely on the machine you want to install High Sierra Public Beta on, I would suggest you to wait 'till later betas or 'till the official release. The current beta is still a little bit sluggish. What's more, as it's not yet optimised for a public release, it uses significant energy, which leads to shorter battery life and overheating (at least on MacBooks).

And with macOS 10.12.6 coming in the following week or two, there'll be something new to play with, even if it's not as exciting as 10.13.

Can't frigging download. Same message as psymac: "The installer information on the recovery server is damaged." I'm trying to install on an old MBP which I recently wiped and haven't bothered to install mitmproxy on, so I can't really tell what's going on other than the installer is connecting to swdist.apple.com on port 443, but if I'd venture a guess, I'd say probably too many people are hitting the servers at the moment... (I'm in US Northeast btw.)

Update. Okay looks like they pinned their cert. mitmproxy doesn't really help here.

It’s only offered if you have an SSD. It’s a bit of a mess converting a HDD - never seems to work for me.

Didn't have any problem upgrading here. Office 2016 (fastring) is running fine too as far as I can see.
Also converted to the new filesystem during installation.

Only looks like CPU temps are very high compared to Sierra, but just finished the installation so I will look at it later as well. Probably is doing things in the background.

Just installed it on my older MacBook Air... 2012 11", Core i5 with 4gb of ram 128gb SSD.
Runs pretty smooth so far.
I did the APFS conversion as well.

Kernel task is chewing a lot of memory after initial reboot.
It should settle down though.

Installation, including the file conversion, took a little longer but no problems to date. Installed on 2013 MBA 8 GB memory.

After about an hour of testing - so far so good.

Well, that'll teach me. Got this message and then get a cycle of kernel panics and automatic reboots.

Doing a repair now, hopefully that works. If not, I'll be doing a restore.

I attempted a repair. No joy.
Attempted to reinstall - it runs HS installer. Same thing. What gives? Machine is a 2015 rMBP 3.1/16/512. I am attempting APFS conversion
