Hi, been having an issue, my iPad will download the update but when it goes to install it restarts shows the Apple logo & then the Apple logo with the progress bar to only restart again & go back to the lock screen without installing iPadOS 14 then settings just says it failed. I’m on iPadOS 13.6

Is there a possibility that the beta will screw up my iCloud data?
I have an iPad where I'd like to install iPadOS 14 but I'm really scared that it'll mess with my Photo Library or so.

Betas are Betas because... They can screw anything anytime. I have iOS 14 in both an iPad and an iPhone. Had no issues at all.

Battery report!

06:30-08:51: 100% -> 97%

I have to say it’s doing well. Last night after installing it drained 21% within 4 hours but that was to be expected. Did a hard reset after that, put it on the charger and unplugged when I woke up and that’s what I’m seeing.

I’m using my iPhone as I normally do so 97% right now is basically on track to where I usually was with 13.5 (never upgraded to 13.5.1 or 13.6 beta 2 since I didn’t have Wi-Fi for 2 weeks).

I’m hesitant to try watchOS 7 but a few people have said it’s not much different. But could be too early to say.

Edit: forgot to mention I have an iPhone 11 Pro and Apple Watch Series 5 (44mm)

If you aren’t careful, you can install the iOS14 certificate into your iPad instead of the iPadOS14 certificate. Came close to tapping the wrong option when I hit the developer site earlier.

Thank you!! I did not notice that. Thank you for mentioning it!

Honestly this is so lame. When in the presentation did anyone say anything about inventing any of the things in your list. These are features that iOS users have been asking for years to be brought to iOS. Yes android has had them for years, but no one said anything about look at this cool new thing we invented that hasn't been seen on any other platform before.

you’re right, now repeat that without crying

Taking a picture within the messages app is not working for me. I take a picture but it does not save it. Tapping the done button just takes me back to the message thread.

A lot of those things will be mentioned during the iPhone 12 reveal.

Why would I cry over it, it's not like it makes any difference in the end. I don't get why people get so wrapped up in the Android vs. iOS crap. I use both, and frankly couldn't care less about what one has or the other or who had it first. It's juvenile and a waste of time.

We'll see. And if they do say it, then I will agree. But since I don't know what will be said in a keynote that won't happen for another 3-4 months, for now I will just say, meh.

Oh, boy... I don’t care where the features are supposedly coming from. I love the Apple ecosystem, period. Every new feature is great for us, iOS users. Android is irrelevant - not because I’m a fanboy - but because it does not have a bit of space in my life. So... who cares? The ecosystem works great, great reliability in everything (I don’t need to be afraid my faceId will be unlocked with a photo of mine), privacy and great value (my aunt’s iPhone 6s will get iOS 14 - a five year old device. I see no one using the S8 around. Maybe since there is so small value on Android phones people need to brag about the features coming to iOS to compensate the lack of self esteem...

The things iOS 14 stole from Android
1. Homescreen widgets.
2. App drawers
3. Picture in picture
4. Default app settings
5. Translate App
6. Instant Apps or App Clips

But Apple invented them, right?
Apple didn't invent them, but neither did android. They have all been around in some form of prior art before android. As I said in another thread, with this type of discussion, Android is literally the poster-child of copying.

Ok super wild, the second I took my iPhone 11 Pro Max out of its battery case boom html renders fine all of a sudden. WTF??!!

Thanks for this! I was trying everything. Uninstalling apps, low data mode, low power mode, resetting network settings. Nothing was working.

Took it out of the smart battery case! Bam! Fixed it. Have no idea why. It was working just fine until I rebooted it ironically.

Let's report it! 👍🏻

Wifey iPhone 11 Pro Max turned off once while using photos and another time whilst checking WhatsApp messages. Strange thing is both mine and hers were bought at the same time at the same Apple Store at Stanford Mall. Mine had no issues at all. Weird. All errors reported.
