If I recall correctly, 10.4.4 was a special case; it was the first public Intel release and coincided with Macworld.

You are correct. This reinforces my opinion that the Mac App Store (and 10.6.6) will be available no later than mid-December.

I personally think that the frameworks for the something like the Mac App Store are already in place in 10.6 (sandboxing, for starters). The only thing that it needs is the app proper.
