1. Beta
2. Beta
3. Not laggy for me
4. Always wait for update
5. Are you guys actually reporting your issues? Every hiccups I mention in the Feedback Assistant or Bug Reporter gets fixed in the next build. Maybe you should help them out.
1. 9.1 was not beta and was laggy.
2. 9.1 was not beta and was laggy.
3. Good for you, the >5 devices I've tested + all 6s devices in the Apple Store were laggy. Having seen all those devices perform the way they do, your comment doesn't do anything other than confirm my thesis that some people are just less critical than others.
4. Agreed, you should never update because Apple generally makes devices perform worse, not better.
5. Yes.

Yes, the 40+ page thread on this forum is solely filled by posts from me.
The people complaining about bugs are the most vocal. They are the ones that fill a thread or submit a bad review in the App Store (when do you see random people walking around looking through forums, rating apps,or submit reviews? There are really not many in your group.

I'm hoping the corporate hidden wifi issue is finally fixed in this update. Part of me is getting ready to ditch apple for my phone and go with the only other option on the market.

Well, the settings bug is finally fixed where it's already scrolled down passed airplane mode.

To be fair, most of those 40+ pages aren't new people talking about experiencing lag, it's a lot of back and forth discussion between just a smaller group of people, and only part of that group is experiencing lag.
True, but do you think the thread would have existed if Apple actually delivered what they promised? I never saw a 40+ page thread about iOS 8.4.1 performance issues.

Cue the people asking if every single feature on their wishlist is somehow in this version of iOS, then being disappointed that Apple can't read their minds...

Explain why Apple "planned" to make the 6s and 6s Plus obsolete right of the box.

Hint- it's not planned obsolescence. In the case of the 6 Plus, it's underpowered graphics hardware combined with a terribly optimized OS.

How is it a terribly optimized OS? I thought Apple put in a lot of effort optimizing it for the 6+.

I don't care about the number of people, I care about the number of devices that I've seen perform better with iOS 9 and the number of devices that I've seen perform worse. The count so far:

Better: 0
Worse excluding Apple Store devices: 9
Worse including Apple Store devices: >20

This is not OCD, this is actually true.

Am I the only one who hasn't experiencing lag of iOS 9 or 9.1? I've run it on a 6 plus, 6s plus and an iPad Air 2. Hell even the wife is running it on a Mini 2 and a 5s.

Or are we just in the minority who don't sit there with a stopwatch counting the microseconds difference and moaning about it?

Deleted immediately after it automatically downloaded without permission. Still running iOS 8 happily.
Waiting for Apple to get their act together and support their own desktop computers.

Nice try but it doesn't do it without authorization from the user. There was no "automatic" about it. Keep running 8 and be happy.

I've been able to add 1Password to my Sheet in safari in forever. Why is this new in 9.2?
The new thing is that the version of Safari used in third party apps is now able to use things like 1Password. Before it only worked in normal Safari.

Confirmed: iOS 9.2 is still laggy.
Boost your game, Apple.
Seeing as the popular and "consensus" view is that it is deliberate -- why is it such a shock when the "deliberate" lag is not fixed. The word deliberate (or intentional, or malicious, etc) keeps being thrown around, but i'm not convinced that people who use it know what it means. Sure, you couched your own use of it in terms of "if" while others don't; that doesn't let you off the hook. "IF" it is deliberate then nothing will be done about it. I'd appreciate that when accusations of conspiratorial malicious, intentional, deliberate behavior are leveled, evidence of such malfeasance be included. As newer software running slower on older hardware is the expectation, not proof of devious practice.

Really you are saying you were able to from downgrade 9.2 to 8.4x?

Only 9.02 and 9.1 are currently being signed

I never said it was deliberate.

But there were sure plenty of them going around for 8.0 and 7.0 issues.

Hoping they fix the lag on my 6 Plus.

Although I believe Apple has no interest in doing so and this is all part of their planned obsolesce.

I don't understand how it can be planned to be obsolete when the company is actually still SELLING IT.

But hey ho

not sure if having the beta profile installed will result in auto download of a new beta version.

iOS has had autodownloading for iOS updates for a few years now

That's because 8.0 and 7.0 had (severe) issues.

8.4.1 was fine and did not have threads filled with complaints.

Not sure what argument you are making here.

Comparing apples to apples so to say--you commented about not seeing threads of that type in relation to 8.4.1 which was the last update of iOS 8 coming out close to a year after the initial version was released, and I compared it to the similar initial timing of iOS 8 and iOS 7 that would be comparable to the age of iOS 9 currently.

This persistence lagging issue especially on 64 bit devices is worrisome - since the UI is supposed to be handled in Metal - there should be zero lag but folks continue to complain about it

On my 6s+, bringing up a spotlight by swiping down or to the left of the home causes some lag - not enough to fill out a bug report - it doesn't bother me but I know it could drive other folks crazy.

You make a confusing point.

Let me be more clear:

iOS 7 sucked in terms of performance, so people were complaining.
iOS 8 sucked in terms of performance, so people were complaining.
iOS 9 sucks in terms of performance, so people are complaining.

The people are complaining because the .0 or .1 release performs/performed badly, not because they are OCD or seeing things that aren't there.
