I can't believe it. They really managed to fix it:

True, but do you think the thread would have existed if Apple actually delivered what they promised? I never saw a 40+ page thread about iOS 8.4.1 performance issues.
You make a confusing point.

Let me be more clear:

iOS 7 sucked in terms of performance, so people were complaining.
iOS 8 sucked in terms of performance, so people were complaining.
iOS 9 sucks in terms of performance, so people are complaining.

The people are complaining because the .0 released performs/performed badly, not because they are OCD or seeing things that aren't there.
That's a fair way of describing it.

Again, what I was commenting on is the comparison to iOS 8.4.1 not having any threads of this type.

That said, just for fun, even 8.4 had it's issues (at least for some) https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-8-4-terrible-lag.1896401/, as did 8.3 https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-8-3-random-reboots.1865659/, and so on.

I'm confused because I'm running 9.1 and when I hold the refresh button I already see load without content blockers option. This feature already is there along with request desktop version.

Cue the people asking if every single feature on their wishlist is somehow in this version of iOS, then being disappointed that Apple can't read their minds...

Explain why Apple "planned" to make the 6s and 6s Plus obsolete right of the box.

Hint- it's not planned obsolescence. In the case of the 6 Plus, it's underpowered graphics hardware combined with a terribly optimized OS.
Easy, 1GB of RAM was very deliberate.

Case closed.

How is it a terribly optimized OS? I thought Apple put in a lot of effort optimizing it for the 6+.

Let's take the 6s and 6s Plus, for example. They're more powerful than most average laptops out there. Regardless of how important you think this metric is, there are many examples of significant frame drops in UI animations, and the OS generally doesn't feel as quick as iOS 8. You'll find many people claiming that iOS 8 on their older phone worked better than iOS 9 on their 6s or 6s Plus. Regardless of whether or not you personally agree with those people, it's worth noting.

Indeed it was deliberate. Apple is doing a terrible job at obsoleting the 6 and 6 Plus though, because Safari (one of the worst pain points on 1GB devices) works significantly better on those devices under iOS 9. Less crashing and more tabs in RAM... and my old iPhone 6 still works great on iOS 9. Not as smooth, but that's a software problem, as I mentioned above. If Apple really was trying to make those phones obsolete, they wouldn't still sell them, and they'd make performance decreases much more obvious.

My guess is that this brings support to the iPad Pro. It was rumored to be in iOS 9.1, but that version came out last week.

Installed. No issues for the time being. And no mentioned new features. The only annoying is that it appeared 1 count on the App Store but no real updates inside. I restarted the phone - but this 1 is still. Any idea how to remove it ?

What about 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4? Every iOS ever, is the worst thing ever, until the next iOS. Which, of course, is worse. 8.4.1 was never any paragon of virtue or perfection -- Rather critics just conveniently and selectively forget prior problems in order to prop up their latest diatribe. I mean, didn't 8.4 introduce Apple Music -- Changing the Music app layout, removing buttons, adding new ones? Throngs were saying they'd never upgrade because they want to choose their own music sorting buttons at the bottom. Didn't it delete playlists, add DRM, and screw over music collections? Oh, and who could forget:

iOS 8.4 Terrible Lag
Ios 8.4 making al devices really slow
8.4.1 battery drain on my 6 plus

If you use google and site search forums.macrumors.com 8.4.1, you can find all manner of negative threads on it.

Let me ask you this: Do you think iOS 10 won't have multitudes of "Turns out iOS 10 sucks" threads. Because I'm going to make a prediction now:

The last version of iOS 9 will be held in virtue and be revered compared to iOS 10 which will be regarded as the worst iOS ever.

Edit: Oh, can't forget this --

Give it a little while and check back. Mine will do that when there is an update that went back to pending but shows completed or no update. It should, in time, clear with the option to run the update again.

What update ? I check - no update available. How can run the update again?

Oh man, I am so happy. I had this pesky little bug on my 6S, that any music app that would play would die when the iPhone went to sleep... so annoying because i use my iPhone a lot for streaming music.... and now it does! Yay!

and i like the new apple music download buttons... much clearer and easier to operate... wasn't a big fan of those three dots solution...

Thanks to all that posted that the settings being a little scrolled bug was fixed! I've installed it for that.

Next thing to complain about though: The Settings app search box reads "Settings" when it's inactive, unlike others of its kind that read "Search" (Yes I've filed a radar)

Let's use the power of social media whining to make Apple fix that now!

Not too sure why people are complaining of performance issues on the 6+ with 9.1, my battery life and performance all increased with the 9.1 update. To be honest it sounds more like user perception/error of the "issue."

Am I the only one who hasn't experiencing lag of iOS 9 or 9.1? I've run it on a 6 plus, 6s plus and an iPad Air 2. Hell even the wife is running it on a Mini 2 and a 5s.

Or are we just in the minority who don't sit there with a stopwatch counting the microseconds difference and moaning about it?

I can attest that the iPad mini 2 is definitely straining on iOS 9.1. Not terrible, but def noticeable.

Same feelings here, I expected iOS 9.1 to either maintain or improve on the speed of iOS 8.4.1. But it turns out that's not the case. All of my devices updated to iOS 9.1 are obviously slower than before. It's strange how the world's most valuable company can't assure their software quality matches their top notch hardware industrial design.

Then maybe you should go to the second most valuable company AKA Google. I'm sure they can't do better with their software updates.

I am on the regular beta program for non developers. I don't see it when I go to updates. Is this just for developers for now?

It's also all that crazy realtime blur. There's a reason no one else was doing blur to that degree before
I can see why that's the reason, and I'm not doubting that it is. But... is it really *that* intensive? iOS 7 and 8 never had this problem, at least not anywhere near the extent that iOS 9 does.

If it really is the issue, I will take fluidity over appearance any day of the week.
