Definitely get it! Time Machine alone nearly justifies the purchase.

I definetely agree with this statement. I had to restore my entire boot drive from a TM backup Wed night and the process could not have been any more painless. If this was a PC I would have spent more than 24 hours reinstalling my OS and all the software I have on here. The TM restore took ~35 minutes for 80GB and I only had two or three minor issues.

Thank you, Apple :)

I agree with the airport issues and my MBP waking from sleep. Sometimes it takes 2 seconds, sometimes I wait over a minute.

Remember how the 10.5.2 threads were. Tuesday...no this Friday...I believe it will be Monday...they will have it ready for Macworld. It will be ready when its ready and no sooner. 10.5.2 is pretty stable. Only a small percentage of people have problems with it.

Hopefully they'll fix that bug there the menus appear almost completely opaque, so we don't have to replace system files to fix the menus.

Im hoping permissions is fixed and runs as fast as it use to in Tiger! Yeah yeah I hear some of you saying it's not necessary! All I know is I run it faithfully after ever app install or updates and 2.5 years later I have never had ANY problems others experiance when updating etc.... So Bring it on Apple! :)
I wash my hands 7 times after shaking hands with anyone and so far after 5 years of doing so I don't have cancer! Yeah yeah I know people think what I'm doing is not necessary, but 5 cancer free years proves otherwise.

PS: Apple fix the damn AFP server in Leopard Server, its ridiculous that a server OS can't actually serve files reliably.

Here's to hoping for fixes to the following:

1) Inability of Leopard to see a Tiger machine when file sharing (or rather, actually show the files in the folder when connected).

2) Inability to copy/paste by right-clicking in dashboard.

i wasnt happy with leopard to the extent that i downgraded to tiger. Anyway i am back using it and it looks good after the last install. (the only thing that is making it work this time is luck!)

anyway,
i will wish for proper update process. I mean Using software update without problems.

anyway some fixes are needed for TM and stability of the system because i still get more jams than tiger.

God, I hope they fix the annoying "back arrow" issue when renaming files in list view.

If you press and hold the left arrow key, when you are renaming an item in Finder, it closes the folder and goes up a level instead of moving the cursor. ARGH! That's obnoxious!

Oh my gosh yes! I don't run into that problem very often, but when I do it is so annoying! When I first saw it happen I had to figure out what was going on because that behavior is so bizarre.

I hope that my stacks animation is smooth again after this update, it really pisses me off that it's so jerky, and for some reason after the Leopard Graphics Update all of the reflections in games get screwed up really bad if I have antialiasing on for some reason, it drives me nuts. In a game called NoLimits Coaster, the water spazzes out if I have antialiasing and water reflection on at the same time. It's really bizarre.

I never understand the negative votes on upgrade news...

I hope 10.5.3 allows Digidesign to get freakin' PTLE working....

Leopard's been great for me since 10.5.0. So *yawn* for me on this update but WOOHOO for other users I guess!

To all of the people who vote negative for these updates, in what galaxy do you live? Nothing in this world is perfect; everything evolves and moves toward a more useful state. If you can't accept this fundamental premise of the universe, then pick up your hate and take it here, where it will be both celebrated and embraced.

To be fair- Tiger was never this buggy. The initial release of Leopard was really nothing more than a beta and far beneath Apple's reputation. I've had many more issues with Leopard than I ever did with Tiger and may have to switch back if this version doesn't fix them. I have a very busy summer coming up with freelance clients and can't afford to be messing with my OS.

Well I hope someone does some stuff because people who purchase .mac to use Back to your mac must be pretty peeved now. Because it does NOT work.

There were tons of features dropped from Leo. This is why some are probably voting negative, because Apple is not working on the features they dropped.

frontrow!

my personal 10.5.3 wish is to have subtitles working properly when watching movies using frontrow. quicktime and itunes can do it (with a little help from perian)...but frontrow is still buggy.

[crosses fingers and scrunches face]

Please oh please Apple, fix the remaining few issues with Active Directory integration. Each update to Leopard has brought no fixes (that I can see, at least) for AD. It's not a very sexy feature, but dammit, it's one of those things that many IT depts. demand, and one of the reasons so many IT professionals still view Macs as a nuisance on a network.

I think i am going to buy Leopard when this comes out...:D

leopard is just fine now, man. You need to get with the times alright? Honestly, 10.5.1 was just fine.

What in Leopards name is Perian?

No offense, but that sounds like a game no one has heard of. Any problems with MAINSTREAM games like Quake or Doom?

Again what planet are you from? What in Gods name do you mean Tiger was never this buggy? Um, sir I've been using Mac's since age 7, AGE 7! And I can tell you that Tiger WAS this buggy. Tiger didn't have half the features that Leopard does, I know this for a fact, sir. I'm running 10.4.11 Server on an iMac G4 and I can say this as fact. Please back up your claims that Leopard is more buggy than Tiger. If you have that much time on your hands, that is of course. BTW, Leopard sucks on PPC's, get an Intel Mac.

I am using Tiger and have resisted the "upgrade" promised by Leopard but yet to be delivered by Apple.

I am not calling out the people who think Leopard is less than it was promised. I'm suggesting that people should encourage Apple to get Leopard "right," not negatively rate the company's efforts when it takes steps in that direction.

For what it's worth, I have been an Apple user since 1987.

They need to fix the finder and disk utility when opening some dmg as some have a bad habbit of freezing the finder for close on a minute.

These dmgs are from commerical software and some of apples own updates have also caused this issue.

The only bugs I have noticed in Leopard are in spaces with apps randomly going to other spaces etc., andit would be REALLY nice if they could get Leopard to start up and shut down as fast as Tiger did. It is still much better than Windows, but Tiger was much faster!

I'm on the planet Earth. I installed Leopard on my dual core G5 and tried to load fonts. It told me the fonts all had problems and wouldn't load them. I tried to load the same fonts on my iBook running Tiger, just to test it, and they were fine. I now have a MacBook, and I'm hoping I don't run into the same problems. BTW, I'm 41 and have been using Macs since the Apple IIe. Don't get uppity, junior. I never had those problems with Tiger, never. From a pro user's standpoint, Leopard isn't practical yet. The company I work for won't even go near it either, and that is odd for an Apple product.

I'm waiting to buy the MBP for my switch to Leopard, but reading many of the problems that are described in these posts, I almost feel fortunate to still be using 10.4.11.
