I am starting to wonder why I even took part in the public beta program... Oh wait, I think I still do, like everyone else right now!

Vista finally arrived in Cupertino. :(
Responses like this are exactly why Apple never should have made beta builds public. People clearly don't know how to handle it.

Never took the time to turn it off in System Preferences?

Keep it coming apple, be good to have a stable Yosemite install. Still annoyed I upgraded early on my retina. Should have waited 3-4 releases in

He might be referring to the alpha ;) Yosemite is hardly the windows 7 of the PC world.... So vista is not that far off....

Apple have now updated it to a new build 14C68m. Direct links for the delta and combo are now in apple's developer forums.

The 14C68k links are still available through apple's developer forums, but NOT through the mac app store.

You will need to redownload if you want 14C68m. Also, since the build numbers are so close, you may not be able to get 14C68m through the mac app store if you already have 14C68k installed. In this case, use the direct links instead.

Let me check:

- OS X Yosemite wasn't delayed by three years
- Apple didn't cut back on promised major new features
- Apple didn't claim certain Macs were "OS X Yosemite Ready" when in fact they could only run a Basic version with many features disabled
- Apple doesn't currently sell hardware today that is incapable or barely capable of running OS X Yosemite
- Apple didn't introduce about 74 different OS X Yosemite editions
- OS X Yosemite doesn't suffer from extensive driver issues
- OS X Yosemite performance is on par, if not better than OS X Mavericks

Not sure I see much relation with Windows Vista to be honest. I noticed how some people have a tendency to call out "Apple's Windows Vista" with just about every OS X release. But all it shows they don't really know what the issues with Windows Longhorn / Vista were about. On top of that we're talking about a beta version in this thread, not a final shipping product.

it's fixed it for me until apple issues a new update.

They already did issue a new update.

uh, my retina macbook pro (2012) has sever issues, too. (graphical glitches), also, thunderbird doesn't launch anymore. Don't know yet what else breaks. btw I didn't mean to install the beta yet, it installed automatically..

Unfortunately, for me, this does nothing for Chrome crashing. The release notes even say it only addresses an iCloud documents issue.

Just have to use mouse and wait. Or, use Epic.

Yes, thanks, but it's not available through the app store, or their website for me despite being in their beta program, so this will have to suffice!

You have to go into the forums, not the Mac OS dev section. You will find the direct links there.

People installed Yosemite for curiosity, or to test.

People install 10.10.x because they have nothing to loose. They are angry at bugs, at huge graphics glitch with external displays, at huge problem within graphic drivers and numerous other bug.
Basically, they just replace a 10.10.1 public beta by a 10.10.2 restricted beta.

Apple don't care about the glitches about the very poor graphics performance. A 15 years old computer would be able to run these animations smoothly...
But it won't be fixed before at least a couple of months. And knowing Apple, I would say, we will have to be patient to have something smooth. The probability we have to wait 10.11 to fix it is very high.

I don't know why, but I'm sure 10.10.2 final won't fix a lot of the new problem that appeared in this beta. That would be totally in the new Apple spirit.

I don't know how I will replace my macbook pro. But I don't want to pay 3000$ to have a crappy OS on it. OS X it becoming worse than windows when I switch to os x.

BRING IT ON.

I have never had as terrible an experience with an upgrade as I have with Yosemite (aka Vista for Mac.) All of my Mac OS upgrades have been great experiences except Yosemite. It's been an absolute cluster#@$% and turned my previously zippy Mac Mini into a slug. 10.10.1 was a marginal improvement. 10.10.2 can't come soon enough.

Installed yesterday, today each and every time I get back after I put my Mini into sleep I get a black screen upon return.
The system itself seems to be Ok, yet I don't get the UI, just a black screen.
I can see the screen lights up just a bit after I hit any key to wake it up, but it stays just black.
Hard reboot needed each time.

Well, I guess I have to wait for the next beta, which might come in a couple of days.

Some of the comments in this thread are ridiculous.

I had to Time Machine backup restore to fix the issues in this build, and I really don't care, because its a beta.

Yosemite performance is otherwise stellar.

I'll live until the next beta. Work will still get done.

Had this exact same problem on my 2013 rMBP after I installed it. Tried PRAM reset, NVRAM reset, and even SMC reset. Tried trashing Plists. Nothing worked, reinstalled Yosemite to 10.10.1 and now everything's all good.

Sigh. Doing a Time Machine revert to 10.10.1 right now on a 2013 iMac 27-inch. Deliberately not restoring applications due to Chrome issues; going to switch to Safari.

do not upgrade to the "k" version of the seed. The worst ever from Apple, they broke a bunch of stuff and I have a bug report in on it.

Do not upgrade to "M" same issues on my two Macs.

I had to restore to 10.10.1 to get functionality back.

Short list:
Firefox broke
Preview broke.
iCloud drive works, folders not displayed properly.
Programs have tab titles not properly displayed.
CPU working at higher level than before.

MBA 2014 11", Late 2012 i7 Quad Mini 1TB, 16 Gig, 230 gig SSD, iPads, iPhone 6, developer member.

Do not upgrade to "M"

No. I think it is better to update to m because apple pulled the k version and replaced it with the m one. They must have done it for a reason - even if it did not fix all the problems. We will probably get a few more betas for this before it is publicly released too. If so, we should just keep updating till it is publicly released. Bug reporting becomes less useful if you are on an outdated beta.

Maybe if you know how to read log, you may see why.

It happens for lot of macbook pro 2010 with GT330m 2-3 years ago. I put my mac several times into sleep and 1-2 times per day I had to reboot. Apple took 6 months to fix the bug. If was something regarding the graphics drivers.

Grrrrr.... shouldn't have left my iMac opened overnight... 10.10.2 beta installed by itself.
I have tried to hide it a countless number of times in the Mac App Store but it wouldn't work.
