To me, 10.10.5 is a downgrade so far.. it's buggier with dropped wi fi issue.. I never had that one before, and I have to reboot to get it to work
So that is the second mention of that here and not much else on .05, so maybe there is some new wifi issue? I don't know wifi is always at the top of the issue list. Maybe wifi should go the way of flash at this point..

I've been having lots of wifi dropout issues on 10.10.4 and I didn't have any wifi issues on any of the 10.10.4 betas nor on any other version of Yosemite, so I'm thinking of trying 10.10.5. Pretty bizarre.

I used to have quite a few issues with prior to 10.10.4 with discoveryd. I was also running into wifi problems when I moved to 10.10.4 since I was running Intego's net barrier. Once I removed net barrier, my wireless has been solid

When the previous "stable" release is absolute garbage its a good motivator to try the next beta.

Might be the case for you but certainly not me. 10.10.4 runs great on my 2015 13" rMBP, my 2011 iMac and 2009 Mac-Mini. Even ran great on my 2009 MacBook Pro. Not a single issue, WiFi, lag or otherwise with Yosemite.

For me, Yosemite has been the most stable version of OS X that I have used and I have been using OS X since 10.2 Jaguar. I am looking forward to the release of 10.11 though.

El Capitan is only in its infancy and riddled with Bugs whereas Yosemite fully matured with 10.10.4

I can never understand why people would prefer Beta software over established software

I think it's totally hilarious this entire thread of conversation. Where does the rancor and conflict really come from? Come on guys. On the other hand, I have found El Capitan to be the most stable Beta I have ever tested, I use it daily and rely on it. It totally rocks, and it is not a mind-blowing change like Yosemite was to its predecessor. Steady progress, and it is really good. Totally love the new Safari feature showing which tab is making noise.

Try remove all networks from the preferred list in Wi-Fi, turn it off then back on, reconnect your networks and see if this helps.
Worked for me!

That worked and was really happy, until I rebooted. Now back to wifi problems
