I'm getting used to the Settings app.

At least, finally, the network settings are fully available without having to search for them.
It's one of those few moments where Apple is taking a page out of Microsoft book. The new settings layout looks exactly like the Windows 11 settings.

...and 90% of the Master/Detail views out there. The problem with the old design was mostly that it wasn't properly a Master/Detail view, which meant you had to click an icon on the main page and leave the overview just to see what they'd assigned to that category. Definitely not the most efficient way of designing it. Since that layout dates back to the original OS X, my guess is that they were just showing off their window renderer with those big icons—skeuomorphism and big icons were all about the new renderer.

Yeah, but I like the Windows UI better: more spacing, bigger text, and really taking advantage of the extra screen real estate.

What do others think?

Just makes one think that lack of retina vision requires that. :p
While there is some differences or some things lacking with new system settings, IMHO the old array of icons representing different system preference was becoming increasingly slower to navigate. Like anything that changes you get use to the revised interface. ;)

Is the boot time insanely long now just generally in ventura. My 14 MBP pro is easily booting up for nearly a min before things fall into place. SurfShark might be one that is slowing down the post OS load boot, but even the OS takes about 45-50 seconds to boot after this update.

I will wait for 24 hrs to see if there are any indexing processes but this is by far the slowest boot times ive seen across all the betas.
Not at all, my 16 M1 Max MBP boots in seconds. Run a Safe Mode boot, and see if it's doing the same. Disconnect accessaries, and also try it with networking off to see if anything is causing that beside possible temporary indexing.

Have to close stage manager to have a visible open window for two drive partitions to copy a file between them. Otherwise, one is hidden on the side and they swap outfit clicking on the hidden one.

Had to manually go to the developers web site to get the MacOS v4 beta to come in. The download would not start from the "software update" link off Beta v3 on my 14" MBPro Max. That link worked okay on the M1 MBAir.

i’ve lost entire day on this beta trying to downgrade to beta3 or install from zero.

the trouble that i have on beta4 is that when you move a windows between desktops, then the windows disappears and there is not way to recover it.
By my personal opinion, ventura is fully shlt and i’m considering to stay with monterey for a very long time.

No one else is having got this issue??!??!?!

Is it possible that for me, fresh install and I have got the same issue?!?!?!?

Yeah, have the same problem with Spaces; problem happens when Stage Manager is disabled. If you need to move a window to another Space, you have to drag it to the far left or right and wait for the next Space to slide into view.

Have you found a temporary workaround?

Sure. I just drag the window to the far right, and my Spaces/Desktops slide over and I let go when the window is in the Space I want it in.

Most of my apps are set to open in the Desktop I want them to open in (right-click the app in the dock, options, "assign to". You can then delete the app icon from the dock if you don't want it there, but the only way to get the "assign to" desktop option is to have it in the dock to do that.

FaceTime app is opening literally every time rebooting on my M1 Max. Tried the typical .plist removals, login items add then remove, check "open at login" then uncheck. Have logged out of iCloud and back in, disconnected everything, reconnected everything, even fresh os install. Everything yields the same results. Reported. Hoping they have a fix rolled out on 5, cause this ish is super annoying. I can deal with bugs and replicating causation of issues to report to help the engineers, but them adding new issues to what last release, was a nearly seamless 3, from my experience, is frustrating. 🙃

Try doing the Safe Boot while in Recovery Options. That might clear it.

Sorry, should have made mention that I did all of the tier 1 stuff: safe mode, first aid, etc etc. All to no avail.
Have you consider going the DFU restore route with a ASR backup volume on a external SSD that can use with Migration Assistant to completely return the MacOS environment to factory default?

I have beta 4 running on both a M1 24" iMac and a M1 Max 16: MBP.

I put PB2 on my MBA 8/512 Daily yesterday and so far I have had a few minor issues that don't repeat. But I like it. Smooth and things seem snappy like it was the day I bought it.

Wow, I switched back to Monterey from the beta (because of the post apple screen boot time as mentioned a few post earlier) and boy this thing is so stable and fast now. I think that Monterey has been remarkably tuned for apple silicon, and I can already feel the system being so much more responsive over the betas (I know, they are betas! 😊)

I have always been a sucker for the early betas, and Ventura to me, I thought had the least niggles post boot in a long time, but after coming back to Monterey, the system does feel extremely polished and fluid so I guess I'm not heading back to the betas until the RC for now.
