iOS 14 can't come soon enough. Thirteen is awful, so unreliable and glitchy. Some useful new features too.

It's only on certain wireless charges (works with iOS 13 and various other phones). It will start charging and stop within 15 seconds. Mostly with wireless chargers that are not powered by a "brick" but instead by USB.

Ah, figures, I have two different Belkin Qi chargers and both are powered by a "brick"/normally

oh wow, I just noticed that while my phone started charging when it was placed on my Qi charger, it had stopped later on 64%. Not sure if this is new for beta 4 but I have not had/noticed this problem before.

I'm now trying the steps in the reddit article you linked to (power down, place on charger while still powered off, allow to boot and charge) and it's charging again - for now

In one year, the exact same thing will be said about ios 15.
Not necessarily. The only reason I'm running 13 is because the new phone I bought came that way and couldn't be downgraded. I was perfectly otherwise happy to stay with 12.

But you were pretty much on the mark as a general theme that seems to be the sentiment. Out with the old and in with the new...is the IOS "motto".

Maybe, but not my motto. My phone is a work tool, When I have it working straight I'll leave it that way.

Each to their own. After having being bitten by immediately updating in the past whilst at work I won't do it again.
Well...I won't update my primary device in a situation where I do not have the means of recovery should something go south.

When I say I update immediately, it wasn't a euphemism for the second an update comes out, I meant as soon as practical after an update is released.

Yea I would never do it if I used an iDevice for work, but personally, the worst that has ever happened to me is the remote app nor the CC Remote would work, and the actual remote was eaten by the couch. At least it motivated me to look for the actual remote.

I honestly have not noticed any changes or differences between beta 4 and 3.

Yeah the Notes app is pretty broken on a 2020 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard, loss of cursor support, inability to touch or select any text. Needs app restart to fix and happens immediately after you switch to another app and switch back. My only main issue thus far

Is this still the case on beta 4?

iOS 13 saw 8 beta versions, with new ones dropping about weekly towards the end. We’ll see how far iOS 14 goes before release in about a month.

Well....I decided to take the plunge and regret it. Hopefully beta 5 will improve upon things. Just a quick summary of my issues:

  • Keyboard disappears when sharing an image and writing a message to go with it (WhatsApp / iMessage etc....)
  • Camera app sometimes enters a looping Gaussian blur as if it’s starting constantly.
  • Safari locks up with redirects. I’ve noticed this a couple of times.
  • Apps crash frequently. I’ve not managed to pin it down yet, but I’ve been trying a number of use cases to try and provide input to Apple.
  • CarPlay wifi stability is now terrible. Music cuts out very often through both Spotify and Apple Music.
  • Apps in CarPlay crash frequently. Specifically Magic FM app and other similar radio apps.
  • Camera app is super unstable. I noticed in Lightroom, when enabling the camera app, it usually crashes.
  • Widgets show up blank information from time to time.
  • Phone has frozen but eventually recovered a few times (iPhone 8 Plus)
  • Mobile data has cut out a few times. This never happened before. Not sure if this is iOS 14 related but suspect it is).
All the above issues (aside from the slowdown) were resolved with a reboot and Ive reported them all to Apple.

If you need a stable iOS platform, avoid iOS 14 still. Its really not good enough.
