geez let's hope they get this right.... 3rd party keyboard issue is making me hate iOS at the moment

Downloading to my iPhone 6. :)

---

I'm aware that as a bèta user I shouldn't complain and I won't. But I hope bèta 4 fixes my battery life. Bèta 2 was perfect (in fact, it was slightly better than with iOS 8.1.1), bèta 3 ruined that. xD

But again, it's a bèta. Will have to be patient until the public release to draw conclusions.

Not seeing anything drastically changed. My 3rd Party Keyboard (SwiftKey) still won't come up from when sliding to reply from the lock screen. Will update if I see anything major.
What has 3rd party keyboard in common with ios upgrade?

Hmmm…I wonder if the Apple Watch app will come pre-installed? Some people aren't going to be happy about yet another app they have to put in a folder. For me it's a small annoyance but I'm still not sure why we can't turn off apps we don't use—especially ones that aren't critical to the system.

This is something that needs to be added in iOS 9 - there's a ridiculous amount of built in apps now, its akin to bloatware.

The app for the Apple Watch might me something like with Nike+. So you have to enable it before you actually see the app. With Apple Watch it could be possible you first have to connect it with your iPhone in order to make the app show up. Makes sense, right? :p

more crap i cant delete? i dont get why things like Podcasts, iBooks etc have to be preinstalled. it would be so much easier to just have them on the welcome screen when you open the App Store for the first time, just like iWork Apps. besides they could be updated whenever instead of waiting on an iOS update

i like Apples way of doing things...

Introduce features for something that is not even out yet..

Who the hell can use these features ? Its not like developers have early access to the Apple watch physically so they can test their stuff. That, i could understand.

It could be worse... you could be an Android user.

Have we heard there will be an app for it?

Unless I missed something, I doubt there will be. I suspect there will be a section for it in Settings and then it taps directly into apps.

That would be a lot like Notifications, really. You control how you see them in Settings and then you control what you get in the individual apps themselves. There's no need for a "Notifications Manager" app and I'm imagining the watch will work exactly the same way.

All you beta testers keep one thing in mind here: no version of iOS 8 will be as smooth and fluid as iOS 7.1.2 is on the iPhone 5s.

Is anybody else not seeing iOS 8.2 Beta 4 nor Xcode Beta 4 in their development portal?

We've heard from other established developers (and from a Dev working closely with the SDK Team) that there will be an additional app to manage App extensions, at the least.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to have the ability to hand pick first party apps to have on my iPhone, but, I think you've been spoiled enough to have forgotten what phones were like coming into 2007, or the years that followed when Verizon realized how bloat-able Android could be.

Well, mine is. iOS 8.2 beta 4 is ridiculusly smooth on my 5s. Take a look at my post history ... I can go on about UI smoothness and fluidity a fair bit.

The gulf between iPhone and iPad builds of iOS 8 is what gets me, the iPhone versions always feel more 'complete'.

Same here. Agree about the iPads. They always manage to get it wrong with those devices.

What's interesting is that MacRumors is claiming that Xcode Beta 4 was released when nobody even has it. lol

Yes there will be an app for it:

Still not available for me 2 hours after it became available to others, has anyone else in the UK got it

I'm guessing Apple is releasing this in phases to different areas around the globe. I'm on the East Coast of the United States, and still haven't seen the updates yet. Or, maybe just the iPhone 8.2 beta 4 was released but not the other developer tools.

Has ANYONE gotten the new Xcode through the developer's center today?

In the Bluetooth section of the Settings menu on the iPhone, there's now a mention of the Apple Watch, advising users to open the "Apple Watch app" to pair an iPhone with an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch iPhone app will likely be used to allow Apple Watch wearers to control settings on the device from their iPhones.

I mean it's not 100% official yet, but considering it made it into the beta, it seems likely.
