Since reviewers probably already have their units and iOS has to be flashed on all the phones shipping a week from now, I think it’s all but certain this is the final .0 version that is on the new devices and will be released on Monday. Any changes will have to wait for 16.0.1.

Multiple RCs are possible when new devices aren’t about to ship. That’s why iOS 13.0 had to be released, even though it was in such a rough state.
Right, however the RC and public release for iOS 15 were not the same last year. It’s always possible there could be a new 16.0 build to upgrade to on Monday.

So while it's great that you can now sort your music playlists by release date, thereby effectively putting the new music on the top of your playlist, I noticed a glitch in that if an artist has remade an older song, Apple Music is putting it on the bottom of the playlist, as I assume it's taking the original release date and now the new release date of the redone song.

Sorry, I'm new to betas this year.

I have the public beta of ios 16 installed. If I want to make sure I get the final public release on the 12th do I just delete the profile now? And then will my beta update to the public release?
They’ve pushed out the Release Candidate to public beta users as well. If you’d like to get off the beta train you can go into settings and remove the beta profile. Doing so will put you back on the standard software updates. If you leave the beta profile installed you’ll actually continue to get future betas pushed to you down the line for iOS 16 - next one likely being a .0.1 for minor issues or 16.1 in October. Hope this helps.

thank you very much

Maybe they’ll get around to fixing some of the CarPlay issues for 16.1? No matter what I play in the Music app, when it goes to the next track, the play/pause icon changes to this. Can no longer pause the song unless I go to the Music app itself, where the icon behaves normally.

I’ve reported it, as it’s been happening since iOS 16 beta 4, but being acknowledged at all in any Feedback I’ve filed would also be a miracle.

how's the UI, lags or battery and etc ? I mean overall worth the update ? I'm on 13 mini...
The RC is rather rough on my 11 Pro while the beta before it was more polished and smooth than iOS 15 as a whole.
I’m not impressed. I hope that the public release tomorrow and a factory reset will fix things.

The Lock Screen widgets are nice for dumped down info at a glance, focus modes can be used as literally themes if done right, although proper themes will still take quite a while to set up.
The Lock Screen features are rather bare bones IMO, but a good and very welcome start.
Dictation is more useful than before and keyboard haptics are sweet.

The public release was almost five hours ago today, and it's also the same build as the RC. There'll be nothing for you to update to.

I had an odd issue throughout all the betas. I figured it was a bug, but it turned out no one else was having the same issue. I did a 'Reset All Settings', but that didn't fix it. So then I did a 'Erase All Content and Settings' and restored from a backup, and that finally fixed it. Luckily the backup didn't restore the cruft that was causing the bug. (I didn't do a re-install of iOS.)
