Apple Seeds iOS 4.3 Beta to Developers

No facetime icon

i dont have the facetime icon on my iphone 4...

iphone and ipad both running 4.3 and properly registered thru xcode. ipad four finger gestures are working fine... just no facetime icon on the phone, anyone know why or how? if theres another thread pls point me to it i didnt see one... thx!

Hi Mate,

The Facetime icon caught me out. I was expecting to see it on my iPhone 4 but it's an iPod feature only.

One thing I'm not seeing is the re-designed keyboard. Unless it's so subtle that I can't tell any difference from previous.

Anyone else seeing the keyboard redesign?
 
it's being described as a slight redesign, each key has what I guess what would be described as an indent like a proper keyboard might have under each key (I have yet to see this):

Just found this out and was blown away by it.
Anybody who has the 4.3 on their iPad do this.
Launch an app, and SLOWLY pinch with 4 fingers. The iPad will play the quit animation live, allowing you to peak at the home screen without ever shutting the app.
Sorry if this has been mentioned already!

ah that makes sense, i didnt realize, guess the phone has no real need... im not seeing the different keyboard either

I'm seeing it in one or two places now. When downloading an app from the app store, you put in your password, the re-desgined keyboard appears there.
 
iPhone work in car again with 4.3 beta?

Hei,

has anybody of you who got the 4.3 beta, tried out if the connection iPhone -> car via usb is working again?

It worked perfectly with 4.1 then was 'removed' in 4.2 (cannot access device/unknow device). I most certainly hope it's back in 4.3!!!

Has anyone else noticed that to the right of carriers it says "3"? who is the third carrier? T-Mobile or Sprint? Or another carrier?
 
So whats with this udid thing? I torrented 4.3, installed it and everything works great on my ip4, tethering and everything. But I didnt enter any code or anything. Is Apple gonna find out w/o this code or whatever?

Oh, and is this beta time limited?
 
I messed up...

I don't get what happened.
I have been installing Betas on my ipad before and had no problem, but now, it won't activate.
I dont have a Paid Developers account, so of course, I've been using Torrents and what not. But this time, when I tried restoring, it installs, then comes to a page on iTunes that says,
"We're unable to complete your activation."
And says my device is not registered. (i know that!)
And says to register on the developer website.
But I cant!
And there is no option to go back to 4.2.1
I can't use my ipad, and I can't restore it, and i can't update it. Its stuck.

WHAT DO I DO!?!
 
that sucks. im fearing im in the same boat with my iphone. It works as of now, but im no developer, so if this beta is time limited, or if it eventually asks for a code, im screwed.

Haha, I knew I would get it fixed eventually.
Just had to download the iOS 4.2.1 (google it) and put my ipad into DFU mode. Then it gave me an option to restore.

Now, its back to 4.2.1, and is currently restoring from a backup.
YEA!!! :D

I was scared for a moment there...
 
It broke my App Store Updates

I installed the 4.3 Beta (I am a registered developer) on my iPhone 4 and iPad. On both devices the App Store updates screen would not load. In fact, on the iPad I have a badge showing me I have zero updates. The update screen loads but is blank and all it has is an "Update All" button but it does nothing.

I tried signing out of the App Store on both devices, restarted them, yet this problem persisted. I eventually went back to 4.2.1 on the iPhone via XCode and am thinking the same for the iPad tonight.

The one feature I will miss on the iPhone with 4.3 is the text message vibrate sequence was different than the email vibrate so I could tell which I was receiving without taking the phone out of my pocket.

I was scared to try again, but today I tried UPDATING (not restoring like before) to the new 4.3. But, it turned out with Error 14. (WHY?!)
Luckily, it let me go back to 4.2.1.

Anyone experience Error 14 and know how to get it to work?

I'm having the same problem. I even tried restoring and trying again. I would like to know a fix as well.

It's not just you. Every iOS 4.3 Beta users are experiencing that same bug. The zero updates appear when you have nothing to update.

The workaround is to download the firmware from another place. I've seen this problem every year. Devs download from the same place where anyone with $99 per year download their beta firmwares.
