What about it???

Um...FIX IT?! On iOS 7 my iPod Touch 5th. Gen. loses 10% of battery juice every hour. And that's with multiple Restores and DFU Restores. I've turned off every function that makes it worthwhile to have a Touch, and it does no good.

well I am trying to restore my phone but it seems stuck in a cycle.... not sure how to get out of it tbh.

Stupid doing this after an ota update...why not just do this when someone first tries to go on to a beta program and just say access denied don't allow people to download and install then lock down the phone.

The price you pay

A lot of people here has been talking how this beta has much faster and smoother animations. Does someone mind posting a video or doing some time comparison with previous iOS versions? :p

Aren't betas under NDA?

----------

For the moment it looks good, but let's give it more time...

God I hope they fixed Safari. Having it crash all the time is f'ng annoying!

Forget safari, the music app is in ruins!, talk about crashing.

Also when opening notifications in the lock screen especially with passbook its crash city!

Sometimes your data gets screwed up, sometimes you hit a page that is implemented so poorly that your browser crashes. You can't expect software to be able to handle every single edge case and random error.

A webbrowser should NOT crash when encountering a poorly written webpage, especially when there are so many of them. It can fail to render it correctly or give an error message, sure, but a program should never crash just because it gets wonky input.

Well excuse me Mr. I Am A Developer - some of us would like our phones to be actually functioning properly without bugs and crashes left and right.

Then why did you install a beta?

The only reason I want to upgrade is due to the fact that iOS 7.0.3 and 7.0.4 have been complete ***** for me in regards to usability.

By installing a beta you are indirectly acknowledging that you are testing software that could potentially have severe issues. Expecting that installing a beta will increase stability is a gamble at best.

Phone calls do not come in and the only way I know I had a phone call is because a few minutes later I get a VM indicating so.

Have you installed Google Voice before by chance? I remember having similar problems receiving SMS (and possibly voice, but I rarely talk on the phone) until I realized it was routing them all through Google Voice but failing to notify me.

On top of that iOS 7 is so buggy that I have to constantly press my home button before it actually even does anything. No my home button isn't defective nor is it broken, it worked fine all day every day while I was on iOS 6.

Does this only happen when an app is open (i.e., Safari, a game)? If so, it may be just running slow and failing to immediately respond (software/iOS).

Does it happen even when you simply use the button to wake up the screen? If so, this is classic behavior of a failing home button, however without looking at it directly I can't say for certain.

  • Try pressing and releasing it firmly, then wait a few seconds before trying to press it again, does it predictably work/not work?
  • Try the again, but once at each of the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the button (as opposed to pressing the center). You can do this with your fingernail, again wait a few seconds between presses.
  • Try the same thing, but vary the pressure slightly (i.e., press a bit harder/lighter).

If it seems to "work more often" with a particular kind of way that you press it, the button could be failing and you should have someone at [Apple] look at it.

Jailbreaking?

I've heard this is the update people were waiting for so we can get a jailbreak finally, anyone know anything about that? or where I can do some reading? :)

fixed now, but thanks for being such an understanding and nice person, it will surely but a sad day when something goes wrong with your phone or a backup, I may even play a violin.

sorry no sympathy for someone that complains that something they obtained through non-proper means isn't working for them... boo hoo

This is what it looks like without music. You can tap the word "music" to open the music app. Sorry, have no music on the phone since I just did a clean install.

Just to be clear. You can tap the are where the song and album title are now and it'll take you to the music app as well. This isn't new in 7.1.

(Though who would know given that text and buttons look the same now...)

Has the volume or ringer image that shows on the screen gone when your adjusting the volume while watching something?

It's very interesting that they're clearly actively listening to feedback on what needs to change. I'm going to bet that iOS 8 is going to bring some pretty significant functionality that people have been pining/whining for.

You underestimate the power of poorly written web pages.

Hmm...I don't have any issues with the music app.

And obviously you're not developer ;)
Don't use beta on your main devices.
iOS 7 is not buggy, your software is.
If you don't understand the above, pls disappear from these forums ;(

seriously...boo hoo ? that's the level we're working on ....whatever, the lockout process is poorly implemented.
