I predict that iOS 7 is going to be the Vista of Apple.

I hate the icons. They look like something out of an unpopular jailbreak theme. No class at all. Jony Ive needs to go back to working on hardware and then need to hire someone who understand software usability.

I really don't care if you guys think that skeuomorphism is not chic or hip anymore. It lends itself toward usability because user interfaces are for the "user", not the hipster wannabe designer. Usability sometimes requires a few compromises for a designers "vision".

Even these icons use skeuomorphism because without it, you would not recognize which is the phone icon.

See this article on what it is any why it can be useful.

That design philosophy is context sensitive where the look and feel is suited to the context. The current design language in iOS 7 is not context sensitive. It is harder to use for new users and is really boring visually IMHO.

You know, it's Jony Ive, he can't do anything wrong. Ask John Gruber about it ...

Hey guys, just noticed this HUGE bug in either mine and my girlfriend ip5's. After you shut down the device and you turn it back on, and says the SIM card is locked and you swipe to unlock it, just turns out the unlock screen does not show up! And if you try to call someone, the message to unlock will not appear again, the call just fails and returns to the home screen. I only managed to overcome this bug by taking the simcard with the phone on and put it right in, and then the little window showed up and I was able to put my SIM code. Then i just turned off the SIM code activation on settings! This is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE bug. Anyone experienced it?

Pretty odd but when you do not swipe the "SIM Unlocker" but the whole lockscreen, the unlock-screen appears.

Is evernote working properly on this release? It's stopping me from beta testing iOS7, major bummer.

Apple is an Akamai customer. They have over 100,000 servers in their CDN. One little iOS update isn't going to do a thing.

Somehow my iOS test devices don't seem to know this and are stuck in either "Checking for Update..." and "Downloading ..."

The speed bump over beta 2 on my iPhone 4 is unbelievable! Just simple stuff like scrolling through the springboard, or the opening/closing animation in apps is all alot smoother. Loving it!

it is smoother, but it seems to me that the animation into a folder and out of a folder was faster in Beta2 vs Beta3. :-/

I'm really eager to try iOS7 but I have a couple questions. I have to pay $99 and become a "developer?" Is there a way around that? If I do DL and install it, is there a possibility that I'll lose the ability to do certain things?

If there's already a thread where this is discussed please point me to it.

If you aren't a developer don't install the betas. You may bork your phone, it may reset often, some apps may be broken and such. Just wait till release.

Behold! New minimalist map! ...heh, I think I may need to restart or something.

Transparency

Anyone getting a black and white respectively for the notification center instead of the transparent backgrounds they showed in beta 1 and 2? Setting for it maybe?

I tried to see if we could still put apps inside Newsstand.
I cannot anymore, but when I try, the app other than Newsstand gets a bit transparent. Then it's name goes some place else. Sometimes the app even go to some strange place.

A restart fixes this.

I would but my work blocks everything. Was trying to use hotspot got the same message. Ran to starbucks same thing. Tried to see if it would at least pop up on cellular just to see if I would get something other than your OS is up to date. And I get the same message. Oh well, I'll get it later not a big deal.

Is anyone else getting that message?

Oh, okay well you be able to download it later but try restarting you phone

I'm not happy about the font change. The old previous one was much better and in phase with the lightness if the OS. This one is a lot heavier like in iOS6. Quite angry they listened to people on this one...

This bugged me too. Came to the forum to find out why, but ended up realizing that if you go into Accessibility, there's a new setting called "Bold Text"

Take out the sim card and put it back in. And it will then ask you to unlock the sim. I happen to me to as well and when taking out the sim and putting it back in problem solved

Yes, that's what I did, but then i turned off the iphone and turn it on again, and the bug persists. Thanks for sharing. ;)

Pretty odd but when you do not swipe the "SIM Unlocker" but the whole lockscreen, the unlock-screen appears.

Not on my phone, neither on my girlfriend's phone. Only works as KattDaDon said. This is a very huge back, and pretty sure it's not from our phones, other people probably will experience this horrible bug. :(

This reminds me of sidewalk prophet that yells at people walking by about their sins and the end of the world.
This reminds me of the person warned about an incoming tsunami who instead of heeding the warning, sits by the beach and then is swept away to sea to drown.

Downloaded and installed in about 15mins.

Many welcomed fixes, can't tell the difference in the fonts though.

Nice new animation for updating apps, messages slide to the left and see a time stamp of messages (not sure if this was in previous builds).

Does anyone know how to have landscape multitasking, hasn't functioned for me since B1?

Ahh.. Finally someone speaking my mind... I agree with ya bro... The iOS 7 icons are Mind-Numbing, Spirit-Crushing, Stomach-Wrenching, Soul-Destroying, Heart-Bleeding, Eye-Aching, Fugly, Inconsistent, Confusing.... Just Bad... :'(

ok, so... you don't like the new icons I take it.

I'm so jealous of you guys now! it's like you are talking in insider-only terms, but hey, it looks like it's a big improvement

I have no doubt that by September iOS will be oustanding
