Cant unlock my sim card in Beta3, it does not ask me for sim password when starting my iPhone and cant enter my password in the settings.

Any suggestions? (Updated from Beta2)
You can either take out your some card and put it back in and it will ask you to put in your sim pin code to unlock it or you can just turn your device ofd and put it back on and just slide to unlock your device and ignore the sim lock message. When you slide to unlock your device the sim lock will pop up but do not select the sim lock message and slide to unlock as it appears to be broken

Don't know if it's already been mentioned, but the loading bar in Safari seems thicker as well, much easier to see!!

It's turned off on my iPhone, when I turn it on, it's even thicker…

Apple has changed the system font in beta 3 to Helverica Neue Regular, instead of Helvetica Neue Ultra light. The latter is still being used, but only where it makes sense. Clarity is important in all kind of lighting conditions and an ultra light font doesn't help..That is why Apple changed the system font. It is a good change and it helps in almost every dialog in the new OS. Just compare how the old shutdown screen looked like (as far as readability concerns), or have a look how better it is now to read the options when you get an incoming call. Or have a look at the text of the messages.app...
It is a good step in the right direction and it shows that iOS 7 is still a work in progress. I guess we will be seeing more changes in the next weeks, but at some point Apple will freeze adding or changing things, as we are closing release...

I disagree completely. And how exactly did reel to reel, spiral binding, and torn calendar pages make interfaces more usable?

This. There is some skeuomorphic design that is useful, when it helps you understand how it works, such as layout and such, which is heavily used in iOS 7. Then there is useless skeumorphism such as torn pages, leather imitation, etc which doesn't add anything at all other than visual design.

Asking my wife who is in no way friendly to technology changes and she loves the UI. Even dealing with the current lag issues on her iPhone 4 because it's that beautiful to her.

:D Asking my girlfriend who is in no way friendly to technology changes and she hates the UI.

Some app icons on iPad are messed up

Icons for some apps look odd. For instance, Chrome. Looks like it's a screenshot of the browser being used.

iPad 3.

I used the tsunami scenario to point out a danger that many of us actually see heading towards us. The danger is that Apple will lose marketshare because it loses its advantages of usability especially among users new to smartphones.

Ah, so you're comparing a tsunami that kills thousands of people to a big corporation that loses market share. That's a huge improvement, your perspective on life must be OK after all.

I get that I am probably speaking to a bunch of Americans who only speak/read American but there are other nationalities out there and UIs like LCARS or Metro rely too much on American centric words and ideas. The beauty of OS X in the past and iOS was how they were so seamless to localize. There were few static text labels and there was a smart use of iconography that leveraged skeuomorphism which was common to most cultures.

That was well said. The icons allowed children who aren't old enough to read to successfully use iOS devices. Also, other non-English speaking cultures use this design feature as well. When I was in Nigeria, my non-English speaking father-in-law's iPhone had Yoruba language elements and time and calendar settings. However, the icons allowed him to take and view pictures, text and even mail postcards for a man who does not have a Western education or even use textbooks when he was in school.

When I used my factory unlocked 4S in March, after the local carrier MTN updated some type of data settings I had them as well.

In short, Apple has means of allowing carriers to localize iOS, but the icon symbols lend themselves to a universality that Apple always seemed to cater to in their design.
