It's because of the superfluous parallax effect. If you tilt the device, what would it show? So, it has to have a margin to display on tilt.
No, try it. I think it's a bug introduced since beta 3. You can't even get the photo to show 100% to fit.

How do I do that?
Hopefully this helps my battery life. With moderate usage, my phone is lasting about 6 hours. I unplug around 7:30, and my battery is dead around 1-2.
Multitasking apps always stay in portrait now even if you were viewing them in landscape before going back to the home screen and double clicking the home button to bring up the multitasking screen.![]()
So this is still not fixed!!!![]()
wow, sounds like you are more than a moderate user...
on my iPhone 4 on Beta 3 I was using on a regular basis,
5am - 11am: Podcast app, email and safari + feedly app
11am through 4pm: Music App (iTunes Radio), + email, safari and feedly app.
4pm through 6pm: games, ie, Minion Rush, Tiny Tower Tiny airport Real Racing3
6-7pm Nike app (3G only)
7 to 10 safari + feedly
plug into doc with 20% battery remaining. Granted I run mostly on wifi most of the day except for when I go out running in the afternoon, but that is my typical usage. I text throughout the day but I don't think that's enough to warrant more or less battery life, what I don't do as much is take pics or video as much as when I first got my iPhone.
what are you doing?
I don't have wi-fi at my work, so everything is over HSPA+ or LTE. I do some texting, maybe 20-30 minutes total of web browsing, Chck in Hobbit: KOM for maybe 2-4 minutes an hour. 10 minutes max of angry birds space.
If I have spotify running, my phone is dead in 5 hours typically.
I've never had good battery life on a phone, and I don't know why sometimes. When I was running IOS 6, and jailbroken IOS 6, I'd unplug at 7:30 and my phone would die around 5-7 at night, depending on what I did.
I got this after the post-install reboot while connected to my PC.
I don't recall seeing this in any other release ?
You do realize that playing games on your iPhone and playing spotify/pandora drains your battery fast
My big hope is it fixes the lockup issue where the screen goes black and you have to do a hard reset. All of the phones in my dev account are experiencing this :/
Sadly I didn't see anything about it in the release notes. Surely I'm not the only one with this.
One change is that in the message app, when you click into a particular chat convo, it just shows the contacts full first name and first letter of their last name... this can definitely be confusing if you have contacts with similar names...
+1
This has happened about once a day on average.
For whatever its worth, my phone didn't show the update available for download until I connected to a wifi network.
WHHAAAAA?????!!
First of all, a total of 20 minutes or so of game playing shouldn't kill my battery that much. It's not like I'm sitting here playing 5-6 straight hours of games and wondering why my phone is dead.
I expect spotify to drain my battery, but to have it go from 100% to 0 in 5 hours (and days I'm running spotify, there's no game playing) in a place with a strong signal isn't normal.
This battery life was unique to beta3. Like I said, on ios6 and a jailbroken ios6, I got to 6PM on average. 1PM is almost a 50% reduction. Additionally, my usage as of late has been even lighter than it is normally.
