For those of us who are on 6.1.4 we need the iTunes beta to install iOS 7?

I'm most interested to see what progress they have made on the iPad version. The beta builds were pretty bad. Hopefully they've made quantum leaps.

Installing now.

It's terrible on the iPad Mini/2/4. Multi-tasking freezes the device, locking/unlocking opens to a blank home screen requiring a shutdown and reboot that takes 5-10 minutes depending. Performed a "clean" restore on each, no improvement. It's been an issue since beta 1, it better be fixed.

Why are people asking about Windows? This is for iOS developers. You can't develop for iOS without XCode which is Mac only.

Two reasons:

1) Apple targets the iOS beta at enterprise users where Windows is the dominant platform.

2) Not all developers (myself included) actually use Mac OS X to sync their iPhone.

Confirmed:

You need the iTunes beta in order to restore your iPhone to the GM.

That would explain why it's been sitting at "Restoring iPhone software" for a good 10 minutes now. No errors, or anything. Put phone in dfu to restart it and same thing the 2nd time around. Guess I'll fire up my Mac and do it there.
