Clarify on something for me here...

Why would references to Blu-Ray be in iTunes? iTunes couldn't play DVDs, why would it play Blu-Ray discs?

Is that an implication that Apple is killing off the DVD Player and incorporating it's features into iTunes?

I downgraded from 3.0b3 to 2.2.1 in order to get my iPhone working with my car's headunit again, it's a Pioneer F90BT, does anyone else have a similar HU or one that wasn't working that works with 3.0b4?

Else I'll upgrade and try it myself, report back and probably have to downgrade again, yay.

How did you manage that? Apple claims you cannot downgrade once running OS 3.0

Burning discs?

Well, the admins can't spend every second of there life browsing the forums and checking other sites.

So is BluRay support new to iTunes? BluRay drives in future Macs hopefully.

UPD: Just saw that it is New In 8.2

about freaking time. Apple has drawn this blocking of Blu-Ray for way too long.

just as a warning or those who with cute little hacks... apple has added this warning to beta 4 release ..

I havn't read this in a while...
but just in case it's new.

Activate Cellular Service with Carrier. Development on iPhone requires
activation with your carrier network. Please activate your device prior to
installing iPhone OS 3.0 beta software. If your device has not been activated,
you may not be able to do so after you have installed iPhone OS 3.0 beta
software. If you do not have a carrier network in your region or do not require
access to iPhone features (camera, GPS, phone), iPod touch can be used
for development and testing.

Check Your Data Plan. If your are using a SIM card from another cellular
account, we recommend you call your Carrier to verify the account has an
unlimited data plan to prevent unanticipated charges.

I'm thinking the same thing. Don't you have to pay licensing fees to playback DVD's and Blu-ray though? It wouldn't make sense to me to incorporate it into a free application like iTunes. I think the inclusion of DVD and Blu-ray is simply a legal disclaimer and nothing more.

Or maybe its going to be a feature that is going to be in itunes but that can only be activated in combination with Snow Leopard.

Oh right. But if that's all it is, then it implies nothing. Macs has supported Blu-Ray burning for a while now.

Or maybe include the DVD/Blu-Ray encoder in QuickTime X (but not QuickTime for Windows). Problem solved. Not saying this will/might happen, just thinking out loud.
