I was gonna post the same comment. Do a clean install of Snow Leopard, and upgrade to 10.6.2. Run a few system tests. It may be a faulty install of Snow Leopard (more often it's PEBKAC, Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair) as clean installs usually rectify the issue(s) (maybe from another third party software application, which happens A LOT, or a corrupted kernel or .plist, who knows).

I've probably had only 1 or 2 crashes ever (Safari only) since installing SL on the first week of its release...trolling much?

They are fine to buy, you can even get an extended Applecare warranty for it. Refurbs aren't better than new ones, they are probably the same quality, nothing special about them.
While I have no trouble with .2, I am quite looking forward to .3.
The only thing I notice in .1 and .2 is that my screen may flicker randomly in a split of second, anyone here has the same phenomenon?

Dead pixels are within spec, as are minor scuffs from production (not uncommon among the unibodies). I wouldn't say refurbs are better quality.
Might mean you are less likely to get a lemon as they have to actually power the computer on to check it works.
Myself and a few of my friends have bought quite a few Apple refurbs over the last 6 years. Usually they are excellent and you can't tell them from new. The last one I bought (white Intel iMac) was in really bad condition, covered in scratches and finger prints and didn't work properly so it was sent back for a refund.
I think it was just a one-off case of bad luck and I still am happy to recommend them to anyone I know.
Jesus....this release is way, WAY overdue. I'm working on a new iMac Core i5 with Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and its easily the worst release of any OS X I've worked with;

The usb drive issue is REALLY pissing me off. Theres no problem with the drive, it works on every computer EXCEPT the one at work.
Sorry - wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask this, but...you've contacted Apple support, right? And they've denied that this is a problem, right? And there are others on the 'net who are seeing this problem too, right? Because waiting around for Apple to fix your hardware problem with a software update doesn't, to me at least, seem very productive.

They "Rebuilt" Finder making it a pile of ****.. how the **** did they mess it up so badly... just copy all the same code but write it in 64bit or whatever... they should not have messed it up this bad!!!! i have also found that Finder is prioritised on the Queue and if Finder freezes, then something else freezes, there is no way to do anything until Finder fixes itself... what's up with that!!!

I dont mind if apple release this update in september to be honest.. lol! i have a solid system at the moment.. it hasnt crashed at all if i remember rightly.. A couple of times flash has bunked out, but is that apples fault?

I often wonder why a site like say macrumors doesnt create a wiki of "known" bugs and has people vote on who is getting them and which they would like fixed first.
That what if <2 people are having the same bug as you its you if 50 are having the same problem is a bug - if 8000 are having the same bug its a priority.

Intel GMA X3100 and Mobility Radeon X1600 owners are probably waiting for improved drivers to resolve the graphical corruption issues.
I second MikhailT - they are a good deal with applecare. I bought an 08 Imac refurb, hard drive failed, apple replaced it under warranty, and time machine put me right back where I left off.
