Just like the group of early Vista adopters said that Vista was okay when the only thing they did was play solitaire, use the internet and listen to music.

Yeah sure, except I do everything on my Mac. I'm a designer, so I use the creative suite, connect to windows shares, use itunes, safari, mail, ichat, etc. I'm not one of those people who just surfs the web and plays games.

So because you have no issues none exist, right?

Let me rectify what I am saying, since you apparently aren't getting it. 10.6.2 works perfectly for ME. Some people say 10.6.2 is so unstable it's rendered their computer useless. This is bull crap. Despite some of it's issues (like the ones in the videos), it's still USABLE.

BTW, I'm not trying to argue with you. I think arguing on forums is the most pathetic thing in the world.

For the record, OS X has over a million lines of code. It's impossible to fix every bug.

No. What you said was this:

Wow. I'm sick of people complaining how 10.6.2 is giving them so many issues. First of all, I would say 99% of people using 10.6.2 don't have issues. The remaining 1% don't know how to maintain their computer, which is the reason they're having issues.

I have come to the conclusion that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Your first and your last statements contradict each other.

You're still not understanding what I'm saying. That's okay though. How about this: What issues have YOU had?

Well Ive experienced the graphical glitch myself. Ive had Sound Crackling. Finder would crash opening an NTFS USB drive/stick. iWeb would crash randomly - not present in leopard. Safari would do funky things, something I would expect from a beta browser. Thats only Apple related Apps.

I returned my iMac and keeping this eMac until SL is fixed.

It's hard to complain when I have no issues with 10.6.2. For me it's ok whenever it comes.

Finder is MUCH slower still than Leopard! That magic 'rewrite' made it so slow it can't even load application icons when in column view for at least 5 second till I scroll down to the bottom and they slowly trickle along and load. The menu bar does not load sometimes, it is just blank icons on the wallpaper with no white menu bar until I open a finder window or something. Quick Look is very random and won't play videos half the time I use it unless I try it 3 times or so and it beach balls like crazy. Time Capsule shows copied files as grayed out until you unmount it and mount it again. Should I go on?

I have seen the menu bar on wallpaper bug myself. I'm running the current seed of 10.6.3 and I haven't had that problem as of yet. The only other thing I've noticed is a considerable slow down in SMB access in Snow Leopard. 10.6.3 doesn't seem to make it any faster. Leopard was faster at accessing those server types. That's actually my only complaint. (realized that after I sit here at work waiting for the damn server to load lol)

You could, but I don't see any of your problems on my iMac, so again, for me it's good as it is.

Wow I Have A Lot Of Problems With OSX

I have been with Apple since 10.5.2... which admittedly isn't long at all, and considering that i never used Tiger, but Leopard was great, but now, the issues i find in Snow Leopard:
  • Time Capsule - i'm down to my last 2GB (1TB) and now reading files off it can take a while... but i honestly expect this... but for some stupid reason the movies i watch off it only skip/jump/whatever when i change page in Safari or open another Application... seems like an OSX problem, not a Time Capsule being full issue...
  • Finder - what the hell have Apple done to this... can some programming genius copy 10.5.8's Finder onto Snow Leopard and tell me how to do it? Because:
  • 1. Finder freezes frequently... for no apparent reason
  • 2. If Finder freezes, other applications such as iTunes and VLC and Safari freeze and Force Quit still works,, but when trying to force quit everything, nothing happens until Finder sorts itself, then all the 50 million things i try and do happen all at once in lightning speed.... this never used to happen...
  • 3. Transferring files to the Time Capsule.. for example if i purchase a Movie off iTunes... i don't have the space on my iMac (@2.66GHZ) so when i transfer it, all other applications become unresponsive, such as VLC if i am watching a movie from Time Capsule... Finder cannot seem to manage effectively the data travelling to and from the Time Capsule... this was fine in Leopard 10.5.8... in addition, after the file has finished transferring it cannot be used... it is whitened-out if you get me, and deleting it doesn;t work as it is 'Under use by the OS' and the only way to actually use the file is to copy the same file again (or a new file) and cancel it, then if necessary, delete the half-copied file - THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN THE BETA EDITIONS OF SNOW LEOPARD NOR IN LEOPARD
  • Safari - well to be honest i don't think any blame can be placed on Apple, it is Adobe's Flash... but i absolutely hate Firefox and Chrome, Safari rules but do something about it please :)
  • Quicktime X - for some reason, with the file transfer management issues where Finder would prioritise itself (as mentioned above)... Quicktime X would play the Audio at perfect speed... but the Video would lag... i have let it get as far back as 3-4 seconds before i turned the crap off - i like VLC, but Quicktime X is sexy... but i have deleted it to save space :(
And finally, not sure if this is OS or iPhone related... but Apps take aaaages to install :(

Agreed.

I am one of those people that has no appreciable issues with 10.6.2--I run the pure x64 kernel and from day one, Snow Leopard has worked quite well for me. However, this upgrade has been in the pipeline for a ridiculously long time, as have updated Macs (particularly new MBP models). But I think that it clear that we won't see any sort of new software or hardware from Apple until the iPad is released. Based upon the frequency of beta releases of the iPhone OS 3.2 dev kit, one can tell that Apple is desperately trying to get things ready for release--it is likely that the iPad development will go up until the absolute last day possible to still make the shipping deadline. Considering the absurd amount of hype surrounding the iPad (which was present long before the product even existed), every resource the company has is likely being devoted to iPad development.

The biggest problem I have is the external drives freezing the Finder. Every once in a while, the drives that were sleeping would freeze Finder whenever I have a file open/save dialog. It's annoying and the external drives checks should be in a different process, so that it wouldn't slow down Finder.

Just like the group of early Vista adopters said that Vista was okay when the only thing they did was play solitaire, use the internet and listen to music.

I am a music producer and I use 10.6.2 flawlessly. However I have kept the studio's at 10.5.8, until pro-tools becomes Snow Leopard compatible.
