Following the historical OS release timeline, 10.7 would be released in the fall of 2011.

cheers

I wish but that won't be the case here. If it was a Fall of 2011 release we would see beta builds of 10.7. I could be wrong but I don't think Apple can announce an OS (say 10.7) in Jan and have a release by Fall of the same year.

I think we'll see 10.7 announced in Jan and then we'll see a release in 2012.

Not that I wouldn't like to see 10.7 in 2011. :)

I just hope we get an announcement in Jan for 10.7.

It's all speculation at this point..................... :p

However, we do have a known track record for previous releases. That historical release cycle would imply ~ 24 months from SL which would put a 10.7 release somewhere in the fall of 2011. I'll agree that 10.7 might likely be a delayed release (from the 24 month cycle) due to the big changes in 10.7.

I'd love to know why people vote this stuff as Negative.. haha Can't please everyone!

Not all builds work well?

For me, vmware crashes the OS whenever I try to run a CentOS image with 10.6.5. Doesn't under 10.6.4. Seems like a good reason to me.

not the OS, the recent graphics update, there are several new ATI kexts included for the new cards, thought it might help OS X recognise my "off the shelf" 5850 which works like a dream in Windows... alas no.

I'm sorry, is this an Apple graphics card or a PC card flashed with an Apple firmware?

I would just like to see them fix the wifi dropping. My computer still drops it's wifi connection randomly at least once everyday or so.

This normally isn't a widespread OS issue. It may be an issue with your WiFi hardware, router (router firmware or defect), or an issue with your particular installation of Snow Leopard. Check your router first, make sure it's running the most current firmware. If your system is a laptop and the WiFi issue occurs outside your home, have your Airport WiFi Card checked out by an Apple Genius. You could also install a fresh copy of Snow Leopard. My Mac Pro was running 30-40% slower than normal after a year, I installed a fresh copy of Snow Leopard and bam! many of the issues were resolved. If Snow Leopard had a well known, wide spread WiFi issue, it would be all over the sites and a major issue for Apple.

.... and the wifi's....

I don't care.

lol i think we are talking about the same thing...

Mail Rules extending off screen work around

Mail/preferences/rules

When 25 or more rules are added the Rules Window will extend off the bottom of the screen, taking the control buttons out of view.

This problem has been verified repeatedly by Apple Geniuses, Apple Phone Tech and Apple Support techs since it first appeared with OSX 10.4.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Does anyone know if this is one of the no known issues that has been corrected?

Your 5850 will very likely be usable on the Mac side - after you flash the ROM. Two forum members (Netkas and Cindori) have done incredible work in this area. Try Cindori's application, Zeus:

Good luck.

Wow this is a great incremental step in bringing about a more efficient operating system and world. The kernel is your friend.

Mid 2011.

I doubt it; if there is going to be an announcement it'll be at WWDC2011 with the release probably at the end of the year.

With that in mind, it isn't as though there is a desperate need for a new release right away; most of what I hear people moan about can be merged into a combo update rather than requiring a new release.
