After around the sixth beta, when things are usually running pretty smooth, the public beta comes out later the same day (usually after 1:00 PM Pacific time).

Is out now!

I honestly find it AMAZING how non-developers will install the beta and then complain there are issues. Shocking !!!

A few weeks ago I had just installed one version of the iOS 12 beta that broke the GPS. Which led me to being lost and without a GPS in the middle of a very shady neighborhood at night. But it's my own damn fault for deploying iOS betas on my primary device, not Apple's.

I thought so as well, but the OpenVPN people claim Apple is at fault... oh well.. back to iOS11

It is very common in the Tech world to blame the bigger company in order to deflect customer anger. My previous company blamed most of our website issues on Firefox or IE publicly (customer facing teams), when in reality we didn't have the staff to test every scenario on every browser.

I'm guessing OpenVPN has the issue here, and they are passing the blame to not lose customers.

Totally agree... but maybe that goes some way to explaining why Apple releases software that still feels beta quality until about .3 - because it doesn't ACTUALLY get tested, it's just people installing it on their phones then coming on forums to complain about how Snapgram doesn't work any more

Is anyone else also having their system take up over 50 gb of storage? That’s what I am seeing on my iPad Pro, though I presume that’s just for the beta?

To Apple's credit, the Feedback app on iOS beta is non-functional if you are not a registered developer.

There seem to be a lot of issues with safari loading and refreshing pages in this beta. Wasn’t happening w/ the previous one.

Anyone noticed slower animations with this release? Things have been almost instantaneous with previous releases on iPhone x

Yes. I unlock the phone (X) and it hangs trying to display safari. Safari crashes. And it goes to home screen. This is new in this beta.

This one feels like a release candidate. They added some of the speed optimization back in. Very pleased.

Not seeing this at all. Just the opposite, to be honest. Odd.

EDIT: I restarted my phone and it seems to be resolved. It restarted after the install, but ... apparently that wasn’t enough. Seems quick, fluid, and stable now.

Word of warning to anyone using this on their main machine it’s is beta, this beta release might have fixed problems from the last beta but it could have caused something else to break also if you need to ring apple care for any hardware issues they will not help with any beta installed.

False.

The FaceID sensor on my X went bad a few weeks ago while I was running the iOS 12 beta 6 and the Apple store had absolutely no issue replacing the phone. And as an iPhone owner of every generation going back to 2009.. this isn't the first time I've had them replace or repair an iPhone running an iOS beta.

While Apple might state in their disclaimer that running the beta may cause warranty, repair or replacement issues.. reality is this is just legal speak. Their genius bar staff is more than willing to warranty, repair or replace any iPhone as long as the warranty coverage period has not expired. You dont even have to ask them nicely to do it.

49GB on my iPad. But it keeps coming and going. Also on my 6s+ but about 16GB.

Noticed the same on my 6S+ too... First noticed that System occupies 25+GB, but also noticed that not any 3rd party apps were listed in the iPhone Storage consumer list.
Then after few minutes System went down to around 8 GB and all the apps were listed.

According to Geekbench my iPhone 8P’s multicore results are 6% slower in beta 9 compared to beta 8. This is how it was with previous beta, so something changed only for beta 8.
I ain’t saying beta 9 is buggy, just makes the phone a little bit slower. Obviously, this is imperceptible for the eye.
