lol The Lucida Grande look was beginning to look terrible. Get with the 2010s, man.

I've not really got an issue with it. I guess I can just stick with something with a decent UI. There's some pretty tragic usability issues with the iOS 7 too. When they changed all buttons to just be text etc. That and it all just looks naff. Icon colors like 90s clubbing outfits etc.

We need 10.9.1 FAST !!

and please re-instate simple things like when we tag / label a folder do it like it's always done with the whole file name highlighted in colour - it made it easier to find files when scanning a folder full of them rather than this tiny little dot they replaced it with in Mavericks....

Tags are nothing new, just a castrated version of a feature they had before.

This is my biggest problem with Mavericks. We have a ton of projects using Logic, lots and lots of files. We were using colours for easy visual recognition of the status of certain files and projects...yellow someone on the network is working on, green ready to mix down, red is mixed, ect.

The new dots no longer give you this easy color representation, i find myself leaning into the screen trying to figure out what color is which. Actually, for me it renders the benefits of coloring things so minimal, I may as not do it anymore, it no longer helps.

I'd be thrilled if my mouse would wake up properly from sleep on my late 2012 Mac Mini (it does wake fine on my 2008 MBP so I have no clue what the issue is and I've tried swapping ports, etc.; I think it might even have something to do with having two monitors connected since the first time I disconnected the TB/MDP one it woke correctly, although it wasn't consistent on multiple tries.

It'd be lovely if they would put a dock on EACH monitor instead of a stupid migrating dock that ONLY works for bottom mounted docks (hey some of us use side-mounted docks for a REASON, it doesn't hog up valuable vertical space on wide-screen monitors which have a lot more space on the x-axis than the y-axis. I know some would like a darker shade for the opaque part as well (personally I think it was a bit too dark before, but it is on the bright side now).

It might be nice if Maps didn't require WiFi connections just to tell position (i.e. either way it's going through the same router and Gigabit Ethernet is both faster and more reliable here). Other map programs don't seem to need WiFi to tell location. It's ridiculous, IMO.

Personally, I'd like to see a GUI option for configuring NFS file sharing. NFS Manager did NOT work here and I ended up setting it up manually, which really wasn't difficult after all as it turns out, but it still seems like the Mac should have GUI options for such things. I felt like I was using Linux again.

Why was I using NFS? XBMC, particularly "Eden" that runs on my Gen1 AppleTVs doesn't work with Apple's SMB2 and crashes a lot with AFP and while I was able to use SMBUp to get Samba3 to work with it instead, that defeats the point of having Apple's faster SMB2 setup to talk to other Macs now that SMB2 is going to be the default transfer protocol. Plus I sometimes I had to reset it, etc. after reboots. So I switched to NFS for XBMC to use, which frees me from having to use SMBUp/Samba3 anymore and I can use Apple's official SMB2 once again to talk to other Macs and Windows machines.

I can no longer move windows to the next desktop by dragging them to the sides of the screen. Maybe this has to do with my two monitors not being aligned side-to-side (I have them at diagonals to each other to avoid the dock moving to the left monitor and things sliding over to the other monitor too easily). In Mountain Lion, apps moved to other desktops (on the same monitor) just fine by dragging the window to the edge nearest the desktop I wanted to move to. It no longer does this in Mavericks with the same setup.

I'd prefer the Finder to have features more akin to XtraFinder (tabs suck in Apple's setup; they look awful and dual-pane is just awesome in XtraFinder). But even if Apple doesn't get it, XtraFinder will still be around to fill in the gaps, I suppose.

Oddly, I think that's it. I really haven't had too many issues with Mavericks, especially considering it's still the first officail release of it.

+2 :) THAT IS EXACTLY what I mean and what is happening to me too. It makes navigating some heavy folder a pain now.

1) The trackpad forward/backward swipe gestures don't work (before anyone asks, yes, the settings have been enabled and double-checked.) They work fine in Safari, but not in Finder (they used to in ALL previous versions of OS X).

2) Quick Look bug: In previous versions of OS X, when opening a picture folder and selecting an image, hitting space bar to open it in Quick Look, and then stretching the Quick Look window would in turn stretch the image too (if necessary), thus filling up the Quick Look window. Then, when you used the arrow keys to select other images, they too would continue to stretch/fill up the previously stretch Quick Look window. In Mavericks, using the arrow keys to select other images no longer keeps the images stretched in Quick Look.

I'm looking out for these fixes too. Any joy with this update?

That ones easy, going via gigabit it can't find the routers wifi mac address to look it up on their router database.

Hopefully it fixes:
  • Random beach balls
  • System hangups
  • Low memory issues
  • Safari using almost all system RAM
  • Unresponsive trackpad/click

still have issue with wifi reconnect after sleep. It just continues to look for AP before greying out. Reported to apple a while back.

When I set the Dock to the left or right of screen, or even hide the dock, the Mission Control animations stutter and lag quite a bit when using the Iris Pro. I'm hoping 10.9.1 fixes that.

please fix safari

In order for someone to be able to fix it, you need to state specifically what is wrong with it.

EVERYTHING is slow in Mavericks

It takes forever for iPhoto to open ... Mail takes forever to autoload an address*. Contacts takes forever to lookup an address. Minimum of twice as long (and in some cases 10X longer) as 10.8. I've updated everything to the latest version(s). Deleted (rebuilt) the desktop (com.apple.finder.plist).

I have an email that is still waiting to load 25 addresses ... it just can't seem to find them.

APPLE ... PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!

And what color should it be if the file has more than one tag?

Striped or you can still have the damn circles, but not being able to tint folder or file labels anymore is quite annoying for a lot of people.

And then, after all you could have an option to use either.

I know that this has been asked before...but do folks really think that posting "fix this" and "fix that" is really going to make a difference?

It's an expression of frustration amongst users of the same thing who're likely to suffer same said frustration and hence allow for exchange of workarounds or simply getting some relief in knowing you're not alone and can converse about it etc...

My rMBP early 2013 does not go to sleep when I close the lid. External monitor connected... That's how I know. It works only using the power button.

Uh, how is this incorrect behavior? That's clamshell mode.

I don't think Lucida Grande is going anywhere, as mavericks has a new "retina optimized" version. I think people expecting an iOS 7-style overhaul next year are going to be disappointed.
