I'll chime in and say that I've had a few bugs I wish Apple could fix..

- On Mail, the red badge number in the dock doesn't display at all (I'm on gmail IMAP, so this just might be a small bug)

- When I download something from the internet, I have it go to my desktop but the icon will remain stuck on a "downloading" icon. You know, with the progress bar and the small black and white X in the corner? The only way to fix it is to drag it into another folder and back.

- Quickview and finder are a tad slow.

But on a positive note, I really do enjoy the new dual monitor setup. I think this is my favorite feature of Mavericks. And the fact that we can download more than just English dictionaries for dictionary.app. Also, my steam games seem snappier as well, and my battery life is MUCH more improved!

Mail doesn't do that with my email accounts, so I guess that's a gmail issue, but then again, I use gmail among my other accounts as well, never had that issue.

The second issue has been there since Mountain Lion. I hope they fix it eventually.

The third issue is the most annoying of all. Quickview is almost not unusable due to the bad performance.

There are several design deviations that I'm shaking my head over. Don't change something Apple, just for the sake of change. Is it just different, or is it actually better than it was previously? Does it have better functionality, or does it lose functionality? There must be some moron over there who has to ask these questions and if they are then how have they allowed some of these changes to come to be? Also, things look so boring now as with iOS7. There needs to be more contrast... It's very hard on the eyes to locate things at times. On a positive note, I haven't been experiencing any crashes of late

Hopefully this will bring back the "info" tab in iTunes so I can sync all my email accounts with my iDevices.

And what color should it be if the file has more than one tag?

Why not give the user a choice of either or? I am sure, that a lot of people miss the highlighted line and hate that little dot!!!

I don't use multible tags, I want the old "color bar" back. Can hardy see those STUPID little dots!!!

still have issue with wifi reconnect after sleep. It just continues to look for AP before greying out. Reported to apple a while back.

I had the same problem after the first GM and the publicly released version. I solved it by removing my wireless network from the list in the network pane in system settings. I then added it again, and haven't had a problem since.

Mail - I miss the duplicate function in drafts. Hope it returns!

Quickview - I know Apple won't do this but I want to be able to see my AVI and other formats again, my old G5 with Leopard was so much more useful.

I don't understand what or how a BETA tester does his/her job. How could anyone miss all the problems with gmail? It's not really a very exotic setup, when people use IMAP and gmail and why did no BETA tester have this setup?

The problem with the IMAP and gmail was instantaniously apparent to little old me and is annoyind the heck out of me.

I had just switched back from THUNDERBIRD to Apple Mail before the update, man am I disappointed. THUNDERBIRD still handels the gmail without a hitch!!!! I don't want to go back because of the rules (oopps, those don't work anymore either...).

Also the signatures are a real sloppy mess in MAIL. Why I can't easely use HTML is beyond me. Is it that hard to implement a decent editor for signatures? Maybe APPLE needs to get some help from the capable folks at MOZILLA? ;)

Yes but it doesn't effect me. I use gmail IMAP and I get the red dots on my Mail icon whenever I get new gmail. Hence, a beta tester who doesn't have this issue obviously won't recognise the issue.

Has anyone tried to install Windows 8.1 through bootcamp with the 10.9.1 beta?
Does it fix the installation error?

Sadly, this update didn't seem to fix any of the bugs with the Finder (despite having an updated Finder version 10.9.1): back/forward trackpad gestures still don't work and there is still a strange, randomly occurring lag when browsing folders. Also, even thought the seed notes mention new Graphics Drivers, there was no change, at least for the NVIDIA drivers.

Hopefully fixes the issues where you can't login on safari to Tesco bank

how about if they'll put back Safari's history button?...

I wish they would Safari, when you open the bookmark sidebar and click a bookmark that the bar closes automatically and you don't have to go and close it

I was hoping that FaceTime Audio would be added in the 10.9.1 release, but it would appear that I'm going to be disappointed!

What's the community's verdict on this — do you think it'll be added to Mavericks at some point, or will we have to wait for 10.10?

Or just relaunch Finder. Press Option and right-click on Finder icon in the Dock, select relaunch.

Another vote here for the return of labels. I used them a lot - I can see how tags works and has extra features that labels didn't, but considering tags is almost entirely broken, it's useless at the moment anyway.

Finder coverflow view and quicklook are broken for me. If you start removing items from a folder, the coverflow and quicklook don't update until that Finder window is closed.

Mail still a mess for me after the fix - emails vanishing between devices is the biggest worry.

Tags are nothing new, just a castrated version of a feature they had before.

This is my biggest problem with Mavericks. We have a ton of projects using Logic, lots and lots of files. We were using colours for easy visual recognition of the status of certain files and projects...yellow someone on the network is working on, green ready to mix down, red is mixed, ect.

The new dots no longer give you this easy color representation, i find myself leaning into the screen trying to figure out what color is which. Actually, for me it renders the benefits of coloring things so minimal, I may as not do it anymore, it no longer helps.
Exactly the same here, but with Word documents - green are final and approved, red are new files just started, blue are edited but need checks, etc.

Now I just can't do it - not only are the dots hard to see, they don't show up on all tagged files anyway. And custom tags with custom names show up as the colour selected for it, not the custom name.

Really terrible.

Why do people expect Apple to fix issues with software from another manufacture who is behind on there updates to support the new OS? If your applications do not support the new OS do not update until they do. Else stop complaining about it.

Let me fix that for you.

Apple has seeded the first beta of OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 to developers. The release asks testers to focus on Mail, Graphics Drivers and VoiceOver, though there are no known issues with the release.

Earlier this month, Apple released a special update to Mavericks to address issues using Gmail with the Mail.app client built into the OS.

The update is available to registered Mac developers through the OS X Developer Portal.
