I see... So it will run in 64 bit on newer machines but not on mine...
Does it needs 64 bit apps to take advantage of this or will apps like Photoshop become faster just by the OS running in 64bit? Is it time for me to upgrade?
Is this one through the software update?

Damn. 6.4 GB. We won't be seeing any UI tweaks 'til tomorrow.
It sounds like a big update though. 6.4 GB's??
I don't think that is right.
Anyways, does anyone know if Snow Leopard solved the issue with UniBody Macs making a popping noise with the speakers? Thanks.
that would be madness if my mac pro, which has "64-bit workstation" written on the outside of the box, is not able to run the 64 bit version of the OS. that would be madness. Does anyone with a new mac pro or any of the newer machines have the new build loaded onto their machines in 64 bit?

I had 10a421 running in 64-bit on my early 2008 3.06 iMac.
Not sure about 10a432 yet, still downloading...
hahahaha
Apple laptop speakers have been making popping noises on battery power since at least 2003. My 12" PowerBook certainly had the same problem. It's not going to be fixed, it's just a byproduct of disabling power to the speaker amplifier to save battery.
If it's been seeded to developers doesn't it mean it isn't really final yet? They're still testing for bugs and compatibility with this release, no?
