Battery issue for me. iPhone 6s had serious battery drain for a couple of days after 11.4 update. After restarting it I think I got lucky and it appears to be ok for now. I keep it in Low Power Mode. But I started a thread on Apple Discussions and for the last two weeks I get at least 4-5 responses daily complaining about severe battery drain on iPhones and iPads.

Why do they waste resources on still updating 11, and 12 beta at the same time?

It's not a waste of resources. iOS 12 is months away from being ready for the general public. iOS 11 is in a stable state and, for the time being, what the overwhelming majority of people with iPhones will be running. If there are bugs in that version that need fixing, they'll be pushed out in an iOS 11 patch, definitely.

What battery issues?
The issue that after every release since the original iPhone, people complain of battery drain?

Fixed that for you.

Hope they fixed the battery issues...

Yes, this!!!

We have multiple devices running 11.4 in my household, ever since upgrading we have noticed obvious battery draining. Much worse than the previous release. Our iPad goes from 100% to like 70-80% after 24 hours in standby. It used to go weeks in standby without needing a recharge. iPhone X's aren't doing any better either, noticeably different battery life.

Prior to 11.4 it was FANTASTIC. All of the devices are exhibiting it, so it isn't my imagination or a placebo, everyone in the house has commented on the issue.

Stupid question. But if I have it set to auto update. Does it let me know when it updates to the latest iOS 12 beta?
No. You have to have the iOS 12 profile not the iOS 11 one. And assume you are referring to public beta and iOS 12 public is not available until later in the month.

My iphone says it is up to date. But since i have auto updates on, i cannot figure out if it updated. Or if it just has not seen the ota update yet.
You wont see it unless you have the developer profile. Not out for public beta testers yet. And it won't update without you knowing it :)

i don't see me the update, i am in ios 12 beta 1 with the 12 beta 1 profile.
You answered your own question. Since you are already on iOS 12 beta you wont be offered any iOS 11 firmware (beta or otherwise)

this has often been the case,

I pretty sure not much focus is being put on iOS 11 anymore

its in its final stages, but its still something most people will be on till the fall at the same time,

It will be released in months, like October. Meanwhile, 95% or so are using 11. The most recent 11.4 just got Airplay 2, stereo Homepods, etc. If you only had the new feature in the beta of 12, people would go nuts. Developers might be, 100,000? Public betas around a million? There are many hundreds of milions of devices with iOS 11. Gotta keep moving on all fronts.

You realize that's the version that they FIXED the battery issues. Check your battery options in System.

Check your battery reading? New battery is only $29.

Yeah I read the title as second version of iOS 12 beta. I was like wow, they pushed beta 2 quick! lol

Not gonna be using this one as I'm running iOS 12. :p

Oh if only my old 5s still worked so I could still run iOS 11.

Does anyone use their HomePod for sound from their Mac? I set up my two HomePods to play in stereo and it works fine on my iOS devices, but I can't get stereo from my Mac. I've updated to the latest version of HighSiera. I called Apple and they said that iTunes on my MacBook Pro should play in stereo, but I've found it doesn't.

I think that it's not yet supported - both on High Sierra and the first beta of Mojave (based on what I've seen here, I'm not a HomePod owner myself).

Why do they waste resources on still updating 11, and 12 beta at the same time?

Because iOS 11 still has bugs and not everyone is going to jump onto iOS12... Especially after the problems a lot of users had when iOS11 was initially released

The problem I've been facing with 11.4 (and the latest 11.3.x) is that the buttons of all third party earbuds, those that are supposed to be compatible with ios, connected via the apple lightning to 3.5 mm converter, do not work; their functionality is erratic at best. After resetting and erasing all data and settings on my iphone 7, I can use the mic, which helps with calls while I'm on the move. Is there any hint as to whether this is fixed in this update or even future ones?

Thanks

Apparently, there's a possibly known issue with iOS 11.4 where if you're connected to 2.4 GHz WiFi, the battery does tend to drain fairly fast. It doesn't seem to be an issue with 5 GHz WiFi connections. Apple may address this with the iOS 11.4.1 Beta 3.

Glad I read that. Thought I was going crazy as I only use my iPhone on Wi-Fi. It's been dying like crazy. I'm switching to use my 5 GHz to see if it helps.
