  • Fixed an issue in Displays Preferences that may have caused Option-clicking the Scaled radio button to reveal an incomplete list of available resolutions and refresh rates. Option-clicking the Scaled radio button now reveals the full list of available resolutions and refresh rates. (77866488)

Does anyone know if this fixes the limited scaled resolutions available with ultrawides specifically 5k2k monitors?

Good luck to all you beta-testers. Been one since the very early days of OS X - suffering through untold numbers of bone-crushing bugs that took forever (if at all) to be fixed, bug reports that over 95% of the time just went into a black hole, and accumulated months of my life wasted while I witnessed the slow and steady decline of Apple's software QC over the years. My new plan is to ride the Big Sur updates to the end and then my next update will be to the final version of Monterey, followed by only final versions of MacOS after that. I get a shiny new OS every year, and it'll always as rock solid as it gets. And all the software I use will also have had plenty of time to acclimate to the OS when I upgrade. Oh happy days - my turn to mooch off you :).
Thank god, I feel like I’m the only one who notices that QC went downhill and reported bugs stay baked in for 5+ years.. I feel your pain!

Haven't noticed anyone else mention this and certainly not a show stopper but I did notice my Weather widget is missing in this new beta. Anyone else so I know it's not just me? lol. I had the weather there before, and it went black after this update but there is no "Weather" in the list of apps for me to try to add it back.

I found it by clicking on the date/time. The side panel flowed in from the right and I saw the weather widget in small. I switched it to Large and it's quite nice. Is this what you were talking about?

Ooops. I was on the wrong system. You are correct, weather is missing. The Clocks and Screen Time widgets aren't there by default either.

Thanks for confirming I'm not going crazy! And you are correct. I don't use those two widgets personally but I can confirm they are also missing for me.

I'll need to do more testing tomorrow, but a bug I've had for many months seems to have been fixed.

Exporting a Photo as jpeg includes the title, keywords and description in the correct IPTC fields.

Prior to this, regardless of the toggle to include this info on export, all IPTC data was stripped.

Edit: After further testing, this is confirmed as fixed. It was the only bug on MacOS that was bothering me. Apple broke this around half a year ago, so I'd worked around it with kludgy Applescript. I'm happy it's fixed, although I still think my script was kind of cool.

You mean user targeted ad businesses? They can go back to fixed banners or content related ads ;)

But if you mean internet connections, there's no problem. Each app or tab creates a tunnel. Your connection to the ISP is still physical.
No, I mean, like, this website… that you logged into. I know I open multiple tabs to different links to follow different threads. I wouldn’t want to have to log in to each thread every time I opened it which is exactly what I would WANT the website to do if they notice that my IP changed.

A lot of how the web works at a base level requires information to be exchanged and connections to be trusted. Remove those trusted connections and a lot of even the non-ad related stuff folks like to do on the internet can’t be done.

Confirmed. Weather widget go bye bye

On an M1 mac mini, scrolling on heavier webpages definitely improved. On beta 1 it was very jittery and now seems quite smooth.

Just want private relay or built in VPN system wide on all devices and no breaking the iPhone security. Need to keep crooks Dorsey, Zucks, a16z, Chamath, Sweeney out of my system, out of my data, out of my life and away from all is us

Have you heard of Cloudflare? Go to 1.1.1.1 the website and you don’t need to wait for Apple’s Private Relay.

Reload button while available as hover, is also available to be put on the menu bar using Customize Toolbar.

You wouldn’t need to log in again each time a new Tunnel is created. Your cookie would still hold the log in. It has always been like that since years.

I looked at this and it just encrypts traffic but doesn’t offer privacy according to all the articles you can quickly find. They offer a Plus plan which…has data limits and you can earn extra data with referrals??? That’s not worth it. Private Relay is something we pay for on iCloud Plus and it can be more awesome.
