Still no fix for the USB issues - takes forever to mount drives. Unlocking encrypted volumes takes a long time compared to big sur. Haven't tried formatting yet, but suspect that hasn't been touched either.

Assume that also means the issue of USB hubs not working isn't fixed? This is worrisome – is this a case of Apple not even recognizing that a problem even exists, because it involves third-party devices?

I'm having problems ejecting an encrypted Time Machine volume partition on a Samsung T5 SSD drive. The unencrypted partition ejects without a problem. I've reformatted several times to no avail, run Disk Utility even in Recovery mode, reset PRAM, and lost count of how many times I've rebooted. In Safe Mood there's no problem so it appears that an extension related to TM or Spotlight is keeping that volume busy. ?

Haven't seen that specific issues (mine are all TB docks), but I presume it's all part of the same problem. I'm 90% sure it was introduced in 12.0.1, because I'd have noticed it when I first migrated the machine.

No it’s the same as before
Try scrolling on a text heavy website. Then turn on low power mode and do so again. Those are the same?

Or better yet do so with comparing ProMotion refresh rate vs 60hz in the Display refresh rate setting in System Prefs.

You are sure you are on the developer beta 2? And not the public beta (which is still at v1).

just found out that it's probably connected to when the app is in fullscreen, in that scenario the finder/exposé completely loses it's mind and trackpad controls no longer works

It occurs even when apps aren't full screen. It also seems to happen with Edge and Excel.

Ooooh.
What’s the version number?
Does it fix the Safari 120 Hz bug?
Does it fix the memory leakage bug?
Does it fix the M1 battery preference pane bug?
Does it add A new dynamic landscape wallpaper?
Sorry I just wanted to be first to ask the important questions :D
Is anyone else's date/time menu bar hard to read at night? Hopefully that gets fixed, but won’t know until later tonight.

And another update..the usb problems actually got worse. I can no longer chain hubs.

sigh....

If anyone cares I am on the latest build (21C5031d) and Safari is still locked to 60hz and inertia scrolling is scuffed and jittery.

However, Inertia scrolling in third party browsers is running significantly smoother at 120hz with very minor hicups than the previous build along with the already controlled scrolling 120hz.

As I prefer safari this is still disappointing and quite hilarious that the variable refresh rate is working better on a non native application.

Better luck next build ?

Quick question, for my own and maybe other’s sanity, when you swap between ProMotion and 60Hz in display settings, does Safari still act similarly with scrolling in various websites?

For me it’s very different and that implies ProMotion has an effect. But it’s possible Safari still has work to do.

How about the other bugs? Did you have the kernel panic while playing some HDR YouTube videos? And MagSafe charging below 80% while turned off lid closed?

You're correct in assuming a difference. There is Pro motion, albeit terribly, trying to function within safari. It is a worse experience locked at 60hz in the display menu.

Really comes down to the issues pertaining to safari and pro motions overall adaptability. VRR isnt fine tuned enough along with non apple devs not having the proper api until I believe recently to correctly allocate VRR function on these machines for other applications.

So bottom line is we wait. I'd be incredibly surprised if its not fixed within the final 12.1 build but i've been let down before.

HDR Youtube videos did not give me an issue on the previous build so I can't comment on that.

I just tested 80% lid closed and it worked for me.

16inch M1 Max 32gb for what its worth.

If later on you want to charge and it's below 80% like 75 etc. Please try it again. But this time turn it off first, close the lid. Then plug in the MagSafe with the 140w charger. And see If it still bugs out. Thank you ?
