Some websites also mentioning that some phones are bricked after the update.
Around Christmas/new years it’s often a bad idea to update as it seems.
Stuff happens. Of all the devices updates, I only saw on hiccup which was on a Mac that was telling me I had 43 mins to download the OTA. That I just interrupted, and then it was normal.

My IPhone 14 Pros, iPad mini 6, AppleTVs, Macs all updated to beta 2 now. If I had to guess the package wasn't quite there when it said it was available and started.

yeah mine just failed. phone is now on the apple logo with progress bar not moving

Worked fine for me on my 15

I know there's a separate post out there mentioning that it's been bricking (or rather, just putting devices into boot loops) for some, so perhaps this post should be updated with a warning at the bottom of the body or better yet, just link that post too

So long story short, tread carefully and if you don't have a reliable backup or another phone to go back to if the worst does happen, just wait for now

Restore from iCloud ... time remaining: Estimating .... for 20 minutes.

FFS.
Ouch; hopefully you get it sorted out soon!

My guess is that with many reporting issues of boot looping after the install that this update will be temporarily yanked to then fix up these bugs

Heard enough of the complaining and jokes about the bricked phones...

Can someone start talking about what's new/different in this beta after the successful update?
I haven't spotted any changes.

Looks like the iOS 17.3 beta 2 boot loop is caused by a crash in backboardd. Based on the crash log, it should only happen for those who have the "Back Tap" feature enabled.

This is located here that you can make sure it's not enabled before updating to beta 2. (most probably don't use it)

1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Scroll down and visit Accessibility settings.
3. Go to Touch settings.
4. Scroll to the bottom Back Tap is default OFF.

I haven't, thank god - always important to stay calm as more solutions are surfacing, like the one you just mentioned

I will give it a shot now, thanks buddy
