At last, I hope the stuttering UI has improved on the 16 PM, it may have been a dev beta 1, but that issue should have never made it out the door.

Thank goodness....could not update on my 16 pro max OTA...used my MAC, downloaded the ipsw and did an update that way....lets hope the ota issue is fixed. MbP was on Tahoe DB1.

Still overlapping when the widgets are positioned lower than standard

Strange, I just did an OTA update on my 16 PM, and it downloaded ok, it was about a 1.82GB update. Currently preparing, hopefully it installs ok.

Nope...even on latest DB2 - unable to check for update.
@tarunc What MacOS did you use?

I'm having the same problem. When I try to update from my Mac on 15.5 using the ipsw and option+click, finder says "A software update is required to restore your phone" and shows an "Install" button. Pressing "Install" results in error "Software not available from server".

Any idea how to bypass that message and update with the IPSW? Any help is appreciated!!

I used my MBP with Tahoe Beta 1.....so you have to be on Tahoe in order to use Finder to update iOS.

I just figured out how to do it without updating my Mac to the beta. I use my Mac for work so I prefer not to run beta software.

Instead of using finder, I used the Apple Configurator app. When you drag the IPSW into the app window, the same "Software update required" message pops up, but there's a Restore Anyways button that allows you to bypass the message and install the update

Registered developers can download the new beta software using the Software Update section of the Settings app.

While the iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 betas are limited to developers right now, Apple plans to release a public beta in July. The updates will launch in the fall.

Just a heads up for MacRumors: This information is incorrect. Since 2023 Apple does not require a developer account for developer betas anymore.

While the animations on the home screen aren't fully smooth yet, mainly swiping between screens. It's a massive improvement over B1 on my 16 PM.

For a dev B1 it was really good, I had no stability issues or crashes at all, and all apps I used worked fine. Will see how B2 goes. The only device I'm not updating yet is my Ultra 2, because I can't recover that. Will give it a few more betas once more bugs are worked out before I risk testing that one.

Friendly reminder to devs that in two weeks, Public Beta of iOS 26 comes out. YOU SHOULD BE RIGHT NOW WORKING ON DEVELOPING YOUR FIRST BETA OF iOS 26 APP WITH LIQUID GLASS UI READY FOR RELEASE ON TEST FLIGHT IN TWO WEEKS!!!!!

Otherwise, you’re already behind on development. Public Beta user feedback is going to be ULTRA important this time around so it’s IMPERATIVE that you have public beta ready to go for your app. It doesn’t have to be ultra polished, it can basically be a preview of what’s to come.

Missed opportunity to end the message with “THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.”

Anyone who is using dev beta 2 on iphone 16 (base model), can you confirm if the official wallpaper used in marketing, is in collections now? Also, if you already had it in your wallpaper carousel, has it been fixed? It changed to look very ugly in beta 1, in all color variations, and the tap animation on lockscreen was disabled.

I doubt they’ll fix it this early on, but i’m just curious. Thanks
