Thoughts -

Love up next and the new now playing screen. Esp the way you can "minimize" it, apple took some good notes from spotify/beats music here. And up next works flawlessly with play next and add, exactly like iTunes. not the half baked queue system other streaming services have.

The new "my music" section is cluttered and hard to navigate. I have a library of 8000 songs on my 128gb, and scrolling though it is hard to pick out what I'm looking at or where I am in the list.

Also, double tapping the album art in now playing no longer shows the album. REALLY?!?? BRING THIS BACK!!!!

Also the built in search is long overdue - works really well. But searching from spotlight seems totally broken

1st time iOS public beta tester here. I signed up on appleseed to test OS X Yosemite and now every time I sign in, I am only presented with the option of testing OS X beta software. How do I enroll my iOS device to test iOS 8.4 now that it is available to public beta testers?

Here is the screen I am seeing at the moment:

Not everyone will see the option to join the iOS Public Beta. Apple is only letting select users into the program.

If you don't see the option, then you haven't been selected, and there is no way to force it.

The iOS public beta went out by invitation only to a lot fewer folks than the Mac beta.

With people losing their music, I may have to skip this beta. Hour long train ride to and from work without music would be really boring.

Better idea...with only a small amount of songs on my iPad, maybe I'll try the beta there.

Yes there is. Just google 'iOS 8.3 Public beta profile'. You install it and voila!

Apple will either invite you, or do as the poster above you suggested (edit - that post seems to have been deleted?) in that case, do as the poster above me suggested :p

  • iOS gets an updated "Photos" app.
  • "iPhoto" gets replaced with a similar-looking "Photos" app.
  • iOS gets an updated "Music" app.
I wonder what's going to happen next on OS X....

More Emojis :)

For those of you who have lost your music, did you upgrade from Beta 1 to Beta 2, or is Beta 2 your first entry into 8.4?

Trying to figure out a pattern.

That way is completely unauthorized, and I don't suggest anyone do it.

You run the risk of bricking your device.

I'm sorry but that is absolute nonsense. It's the exact same profile Apple give you access to via the invite. Once installed you can install the public BETA.

I used it for the whole duration of 8.3 public BETA.

Could u pm me the link because I went to it on my phone and it keep showing the Mac beta that I'm currently in

Sorry, as others have stated you have to have been invited by Apple via email. It's the same site. I forgot that I'd been invited.

Or you can just install the public beta profile, it's the same way PB users get it as the above poster says.

If you have to download a profile from someplace other than Apple, it is unauthorized.

I understand you're trying to help, but offering workarounds and hacks is not the best idea, especially when no tech support is offered for iOS betas.

Unauthorised.. maybe. Official profile that works with no issues.. yes. Even if you had an issue with the BETA its nothing a DFU restore wouldn't fix.

Like with ANY BETA, use it at your own risk, but it worked for me through the 8.3 BETA and now 8.4 BETA. Enjoy!

THIS x1,000. I can't believe they (potentially) got rid of this feature. It is now damn near impossible to select a different song from the current album you're listening to. You have to swipe down, and scroll through your entire library to find the album again, and then select it. It's retarded now and its the main reason I reverted back to 8.3.

Has anyone noticed if it fixes the bug from beta 1 where the next song would start playing half way through the previous one but inside it's timeline? I got my bug report closed as a duplicate but don't see it mentioned in the release notes...

If not then I'll be updating when I get home in a couple of hours so I can check then.

No music now either. Gahh dammit.

EDIT - changing the Show all music slider to ON in Music settings brought my music back.
