Not really noticing anything different in this beta... was hoping for some more tweaks to the music app, hopefully beta 3 brings that. No ability to shuffle all songs, can't access album track listing on now playing screen, no custom itunes radio stations, can't go through artist in the genre view (only sorted by album)... these changes make no sense, I honestly don't understand some of things Apple do.

Won't that show ALL music, even music that isn't on the device?

I don't think that's an optimal solution...

I guess it would but it's showing all my local music too and that's all I care about! Certainly better than no music at all - can easily be turned off again at next beta.

Since ios7 the artist>albums view is expanded in chronological order. So you have to do a lot of scrolling. Is this still the case?

is there an option to change the order at the bottom? "lists" should be on the left and "my music" in the center. OCD level overloading

Is anyone else's device showing they have way more videos then they actually do? My device is showing there are 5,870 videos.. when in reality there is only 131.

Does this "new" Music app make it possible to see the full name of a song again? I have a lot of remixes and I can't usually find the right version of a song.

Anyone else think these changes should have been in iOS 9?

This is a damn big overhaul for just an 8.x release.

Calling it now.. 8.4 will give us a crappy version and 9 will give us the version that should have been released in the first place.

Apple really should follow the lead of other operating systems and decouple their user apps from the operating system distribution. It's silly that it takes an iOS update to get new features and bug fixes to mail, photos, music player, etc.

Have a feeling they may move away from big annual releases and release features when they're ready. There's already a rumor iOS 9 will be Snow Leopard-style--light on the features with a focus on bug fixing.

Music app is not ready for primetime, and this "show all music" solution is not acceptable for me.

Is there a way to get back to 8.3?

Edit: And Feedback Assist hasn't been updated for 8.4

You'll have to restore your device through iTunes... however, this will completely erase everything. So make sure you have everything backed up.

My music also dissapeared.

I logged out of the iTunes store in settings and suddenly all my music stored on my iPhone appeared again.

so hope that works.

I can actually use the music app now without music ending early or app crashing. But the search function still isn't fully working. I can't use the three dots for the up next functionality within search. I can click on the song to play but no more. They added playlist into the search though

After you logged out of iTunes store in settings, were you able to log back in and still see all the music on your device?

So much white space on the iPad music app. Also, plenty of room to place buttons but instead there is a dropdown? Wtf kinda design is that? I hope it is just not finished yet and that's why it looks so terrible.

The iOS 6 iPad Music app was awesome. It has been a huge step backwards since iOS 7 and this doesn't look like it is making it any better...
